I totally agree Joe. I don't see how a bunch of random people chosen off the street who are only there because it's free can possibly be representative of the audience who will actually choose to pay to see the movie. The only free screening I went to that had a decent audience was for "In Her Shoes" and they'd handed out the passes for it in the women's shoe dept at Macy's, lol.
I may go see Dreamgirls after it opens in wide release. Hopefully there won't be too many people in middle-of-nowhere MD who know the show well enough to sing along.

Posted: 12/14/06 at 12:19pmIt'll be RENT the movie all over again. I went opening night, which I normally would never do but I just had to. I thought I would be arrested that night for killing many audience members. They were rude, obnoxious. Don't get me wrong, I was giddy and mouthing along to the songs, but I stayed in my seat, didn't dance around, scream, laugh loudly and hysterically, and scream "He's so hot" or "Only if he'd marry me!" to the entire theater. I can't see how this movie will be any different. But good luck and enjoy if you do go!

movie showings late at night are the best. Its like having a large tv screen in your home...its even better when your party is the only one in the theatre
I saw marie antoinette not to long ago at the 10 o'clock showing on a sunday .. and there were all of 5 people in the theatre and 3 of them were my friends.
So when the Dreamgirls trailer came on- i got up and danced. Don't judge. :)
