Arthur Laurents reads the "88 cents" line in the LuPone revival...do they never call in the actor playing Pop because it's only 1 line?

Probably not unless he does a lot of singing with the ensemble. A week's salary (or whatever it is nowadays) is a lot to pay for one line.
