I do love Mary J. but didn't care for that song at all. (And it's one of my alltime fav showtunes)
Regardless, I do hope that it inspired some kid out there to maybe pick up a cast recording because she appeared on the show tonight.

MJB had more vibratto in her arms than in her voice. Oy vey.

Posted: 6/7/04 at 12:24amWhile I maybe a newbie to the scene, I still like to think I have a good overall musical ideal, and while I have seen songs butchered much worse than Ms. Blige did tonight, I can't help but think that it wasn't her fault, while a very good R&B singer... R&B doesn't rely on stage presence nor verbratto. Good Idea to bring in young veiwers, but a failure at keeping loyalists satisfied, even fledgling ones like myself.
