Hey guys, I saw "Hairspray" last night at an all-media screening, and I just posted my review of it if any of you would like to check it out.

I enjoyed your review. Although I disagree with somethings, that doesnt matter- I felt this too be a very honest review- so kudos to you. I am also glad to read you will see it again.

Was there an overall reaction to the film from the media audience? And by 'media' do you mean like entertainment reporters, tv/print media. etc.?

"Zac is sweet as can be. He's very much just a sweet kid from California who happens to have a face that looks like it was drawn by Michelangelo, (if Michelangelo did anime)."
-Adam Shankman.

"I haven't left this building since Windows 3.1!"

"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!"
-E!'s "The Soup"

Nice review--I especially appreciate that the audience for a big, mainstream film is different than a Broadway show and that fans of one might not like the other. I think the film sounds great and I can't wait to see it.

Excellent detailed review. So much so, I stopped reading at the *SPOILER* portion for all the obvious reasons. I want to be surprised come July 20th. I don't want to have the entire film already spoiled for me. re: My very (perhaps too) detailed 'Hairspray' movie review

Hey, thanks for the positive comments, you guys.

Just FYI, That 'spoiler alert' is only for that one paragraph and just discusses a drastic change made during the latter part of the film.

And an all-media screening usually features press, randomnly-ticketed audience members and members of various media outlets sent invitations.

Yes, there was a general reaction. While not unanimous, for the most part, the reaction was extremely positive. With a few numbers getting applause, laughter at the right moments, and big applause at the end.
