Unfortunately, I missed the performance so I did not record it. However, I am sure someone did and it will be on youtube soon enough.

I heard some B%N staff talking about a West Side Story signing and how they expect the crowds to be insane for that one. (may have to take half a day off for it)

I took a full day off for Liza's at the Palace, half a day off for Gypsy and half a day off for 110 in the Shade.

I don't think I criticized you for taking a full day off for this, I just said I wasn't surprised that you did. In fact, since you're N2N's biggest fan ever, it would have been weird had you NOT been there, don't you think?

jordangirl, it was not sarcastic at all. as i stated earlier in this thread, it would have been strange for you NOT to have been at this N2N event, as you are the show's biggest fan.

I'd just like to point out that the reason why it seemed so empty by 4:45 is because they had already been signing for half an hour at that point. Since they only did 3 songs, the performance itself was over by 4:15.

Also, could they have come up with a more awkward way to do the intros? I was cringing on Tveit's behalf.

I was there and the experience made me an even bigger fan. I am very excited that I'm going to be going to see the show again with a friend who has not seen the show yet this coming Sunday. It was an honor to meet the cast as well as Mr Kitt and Mr Yorkey. The cast was all very gracious and personable. I'm a really big fan of Aaron now...so handsome and talented! The guy in front of me waiting to get his C/D signed was going on about how he had personal experience with being bipolar...and Mr Yorkey was so nice and simply said how the show must hit close to home for him. I am always so afraid of making a fool of myslef, so I kept it to saying congratulations to them and thanking them for the gift of the show. When I got home and listened to the C/D it struck me how N2N is so much more complex, compelling and emotional than anything else I've seen in a long time...don't get me wrong, Billy certainly tugged on my heartstrings....but this show is, at least to me, on a different level.
I was that other BWW posters (at least those who don't wish to be annonymus) somehow had their current avatar on view- so I would know you all were there. I've read so many of your posts for so long....would love to say hello.

Yeah, it was awkward. But he also passes the doors every day in some way I'm sure, and it's right on there too. Nominee banner on Jennifer, Bobby, and Alice's doors. But in person it was just that much more cringe-worthy. He handled himself well though.

I thought it was great overall. There was some confusion at first as several of us had lined up next to the doors where in the past we had lined up for events, then a B&N staffer came over and said we couldn't block the books...we were to line up in front of the computer books (I guess no one ever buys them? Even though at least 5 people came and peered at the shelves over us where we were.) Then when the CDs were brought upstairs (those who went downstairs to get them had to ask for them as they were locked up), an B&N staffer came over and said we could go purchase them a few at a time and get back in our places and those with CDs would have priority seating. Those of us who had them already via sh-k-boom or the theatre asked if it was ANY CDs or just those purchased at the store. Guy #1 said ANY CD. A minute later, another guy came and repeated the information, but said priority seating would be for those who purchased them there ~ so we explained what we had just been told and he went to find out for us. While he was gone, a B&N staffer in an orange shirt came over, saw my CD, and said "Did you come in here with that? Well, did you tell the guard?" Um, yes I came in here with it because I had pre-ordered it, and no I did not tell the guard because nothing ever instructed me to. He went off to go and find someone to see HOW they would know who had BOUGHT the CDs ~ I guess as opposed to stealing them as if they were just sitting out? Guy #2 came back ~ he had spoken with the woman who seemed to be in charge who verified that yes, they had been available from the label and theatre for about a month so some might have them, and they got priority seating as well. Orange shirt I guess was going off on her about how they would know who had paid and she CLEARLY told him that they were available in the store at one place (next to the room) and that yes, people might be coming in with them. SHE was completely fine with it. 15 minutes later when we were being let into the room, Orange Shirt was STILL ranting and raving.

But other than that, the whole thing was great. :)

They were announcing each person by name, and before those who were Tony nominees, the guy said "2009 Tony nominee..." and the category. So that was done for Tom, Brian, Jennifer, Bobby and Alice as they are the Tony nominees.
