N2N seating Question
#1N2N seating Question
Posted: 9/19/09 at 3:15pmFlying in from Seattle & seeing Next to Normal again. Both times I have seen it I have chosen to be in 2nd or 4th row of Mezz, so I could experience the full stage. I am normally a front row kind of person. I am bringing someone this time that has never seen it, and is so excited to. for those that have sat in the Mezz and Orchestra which do you prefer? My son has seen it 6 times, 3 times in Mezz and 3 times on floor yet is no help. hahaha... Want to buy tickets soon...

Posted: 9/19/09 at 3:57pmI've sat in both places and although being up close is great, probably the best seat I've had for Next to Normal is 3rd row center mezzanine the last time that I saw it. It's really nice to be able to take in the whole stage and it's also really easy to see what is going on on the top level, something that you can't do easily from the orchestra. If I had the choice I'd sit there every time I saw the show because it was a really nice view and still close enough that you could see the actors' expressions, etc.

Posted: 9/19/09 at 4:21pmI have sat in various locations and overall I prefer the orchestra. I find myself far too distracted by all the "other stuff" (the band, etc.)if I'm in the mezzanine. If you want a more complete view of the stage, somewhere around row E in the orchestra puts you close enough to really see facial expressions and feel like you're right there but also see the whole stage. That area also gets you further into the theater and away from the doors which, right now while "A Steady Rain" is going on next door is a good thing. About a week ago I saw the show from the mezz, and the noise from the stage door crowd next door was really distracting.

I have sat from the front row rush seats to the last row in the mezz and I prefer being close. I feel a better connection with what is happening onstage. I get distracted by everything else up in the mezz. Like trombonist said the noise from the street and the theatre next door can get loud if you are near the back(I heard a lot of sirens and people yelling the last time I was in standing room).

Posted: 9/19/09 at 11:08pmI have seen it twice, once in the 3rd row orchestra and once in front row left mezzanine. Of course, being up close is an amazing experience, but I actually enjoyed my seat in the mezzanine because I could see everything comfortably and the cast still appeared relatively close. (I believe the first row of mezz is row N of the orchestra). At one point Aaron looked straight at me and caught me staring at him, lol.
