Jack, do you feel that Eva Perone should be played by an iguana?

Dolly-
It's ALWAYS about the iguana! But to get this back on track, I think Orfeh would be a could choice. Orfeh or Idina.. but she's a bit busy.
Shoshana Bean, maybe? She can belt the hell out of the part, and has a comanding presence onstage, in my opinion. She would be a great replacement.
Sherie Rene Scott?
Or......I got it------Mandy Gonzalez? She could definitely sing the role, and may look similar to Patti LuPone in the role- with the red hair and all.

what is she doing in Atlantic City that I do not know of.... I am only about 100 miles from there.

This might be casting against type, but I think Barbara Cook would make a splendid Eva Peron.
I agree with you 100% Dollypop!
I was so upset when she didn't get to replace Jane Krakowski in "Nine". I think Eva Peron could be her perfect come back vehicle.

Shoshana Bean, really interesting choice, I think I agree with you Billy Lawlor, I also would like to see Alice Ripley, maybe Laura Bell Bundy? Ohh here in Mexico there is a wonderful actress who I think would be great for the part, her name is Lolita Cortes

Felicia Finley! She is killer at the part! She has an amazing belt, she dances, and she is an amazing actress! My vote goes to her or Idina definetly.
Alice Ripley could work as well- she is a gorgeous girl who definitely looks the part. I think she would do a great job.
I know I'm probably alone in this because no one probably knows her work - but Julie Dixon Jackson (who's an outstanding performer out in LA - and who has played the role in numerous regional productions).

Jon, Orfeh is in a show called Night's on Broadway at Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City. She's singing "If I Can't have you" amongst other songs and that's good enough for me. Besides the love letter that Paul Wontorek gave to her and the show in his column last week, it's been getting raves across the board.
Back to Evita casting, Alice Ripley is way too old to play the role. Mandy and Idina are both good vocal choices but again, it's Orfeh all the way for me.

I would like to see orfeh star in ANY show peresonaly
Can we stick her into Aida as Amneris untill Evita begins rehearsals?
BG2 and I are going to start our own casting company and make the right and *obvious* casting choices all the time. There'd be so much less complaining on this board. Can you imagine that?

LOL. I HAVE been told that I should be a casting director should I decide to give up acting.
Do both, that way, you can keep hiring yourself. You'd be a lot better than some people I won't mention.
Hey.
Putting my two cents in here. Huge Orfeh fan from "Fascinating Rhythm" days on... She's also been a lot of fun when I've hung out with her at parties. Anyway, BOJon, you should definitely check out her AC show. It's a lot of fun and she gets to sing a bunch of songs that she SHOULD be singing on Broadway. No "Evita," unfortunately. But maybe she'll get to do that one a little closer to home I agree--she'd be amazing.
