When you have an hour to listen, you MUST! They are HILARIOUS together and, bless her heart, she is so adorably open and honest about everything they talk about.
Brief summary of what they talk about:
She is in the middle of moving apartments
funny story about being walked in on by the real estate agent
LOTS of info about Sebastian and her upcoming wedding
this part is pretty disgustingly sweet
LOTS of talk about Pirate Queen
how she prepared for the role, keeps in shape, reaction to critics/Tony shutout (lack of "flowers and rainbows and unicorns" Oy, Steph!), her cast, her love of the role, etc...
The people who "changed her for good"
Jim's phrasing, not mine!
Upcoming Broadway 1964 benefit on 6/18
FUNNY GIRL ANYONE? She is a little bit of a soliciting whore for a revival during this part.LOL <--- once again, not my phrasing!
The upcoming 9 to 5 workshop
LOVE the accent. LOVE the Dolly story! LOVE the audition song she sang!
Upcoming BYE BYE BIRDIE workshop for Roundabout
Steph = "Rosie" = can the girl please sit still for ONE second?
Her concert at BIRDLAND August 27th and... HELLO!!! she is going to host a dinner for her fans the night before and auction off quirky things for charity (Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and BC/EFA) from her past shows.
*sigh* there WILL be some whining offline on my part about missing this!!
And, of course, a little shoutout to her "Blockheads" as well as some talk of codpieces and musical clips mixed in as well :)
Seriously people, subscribe to Jim's podcast and take a listen!!

Did you figure it out? Try a podcast search on iTunes for Jim Caruso's name or the name of the program (Here! on Broadway). If that doesn't help, I'm not sure what else to suggest.

ok, just about two hours later and I finally listened to the whole thing... and I missed a memo somewhere, because I didn't know that Marc Kudisch was going to be in the 9 to 5 workshop.

Andy Karl too!! He was hilarious in Legally Blonde and I see him in your avatar so I thought I'd give you the memo on that one as well

Yeah, Andy Karl is just that awesome...and plus he's married to Orfeh, so that makes him even cooler.
Thanks!

I wonder who Andy Karl will play.
I also think I need to rent Bye Bye Birdie. I vaguely remember a TV version with Jason Alexander and it's been a while...
Anyone going to the musicals of '64 concert??

I wonder who Andy Karl will play.
Maybe the husband of the Jane Fonda character? That's the only other man I can think of, after the Dabney Coleman character. Well- there's also the president of the company, and the chairman of the board dude, but I don't think Andy Karl for either of those?
Now I have a new avatar. :)

Thanks, Popular!
The part about her and Sebastian really is disgustingly, sickeningly sweet
, but it's great that they're so happy.

Posted: 6/14/07 at 8:58pmThis is SO CUTE! I'm very excited to see her in the 1964 musical. My favorite line is from when she is talking about funny girl, just the way she said it,"YAY BLOOD!"

That was a fun interview, but why is it supposed to be such a big deal that she thinks her fiance' is the greatest guy in the world? Don't most couples have those feelings BEFORE they get married?
If in 10 years she still thinks he's an "exceptional" individual on a day when one of them has to pick up little Tyler because he threw up in first grade and the other one has to miss an important audition to take little Kaitlin to her piano lesson... That will impress me.

Only about halfway through, but she definitely called the Hilton the Gershwin.
It is adorable, though.

Jeez, keep your pants on, Tech, it's cute.
I would LOVE to see Stephanie as Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie...actually, I'd like to see a Bye Bye Birdie revival in general, but Stephanie would just be the icing on the cake.

I know its been quite a while since anyone posted on this thread but I wanted to know if that audio of Stephanie J. Block's interview with Jim Caruso was still available because I really would love to hear it.
Just a few weeks ago I had saw Wicked and thought that omg this woman is amazing and then remembered that I had seen her in Pirate Queen which I also thought was amazing. A few days later I saw Jersey Boys and it finally clicked that that was "the Sebastian Arcelus" and I thought he was amazing and extremely nice at the stage door and I really would LOVE to hear this podcast and can't find it on iTunes anymore. So if anyone still has it can they please get back to me soon
