So now the noms are out which show will close due to lack of nods?

I can pretty much assure you Bombay Dreams is not closing anytime soon. The audience word of mouth is stellar for the show-contrary to what you might think the "theatre" people's opinions of shows don't make a difference when it comes to group sales and bridge and tunnel/tourists tix. I have heard from a reliable source that Bombay Dreams, despite mixed reviews has gone up in it's box office and is selling very well. Sorry to burst your bubble.

saddly wonderful town may be next... even with the tonys. its a shame too because it is by far one of the best shows on Broadway now!!!

My guess is Wonderful Town and Little Shop, although i am always sad to see any show close as I have freinds in theatre and it puts alot of people out of work. SHAME ON THOSE WHO WISH FOR SHOWS TO CLOSE...you are nasty ugly people!!

Grow up magicfingers. I've hoped shows would close, and maybe make room for something fresh and new. And I am beautiful no matter what you say. Words can't bring me down.
magicfingers - I have/had MANY friends working in broadway shows over the years, and though I don't wish for them to be out of work - I do wish the pieces of dreck out there that masquerade as ART would close to make room for truly good theatre. There is nothing wrong with me wanting good theatre to come back to Broadway - it's been far too long a wait...
Sorry to burst YOUR bubble, magicfingers, but I never said I wanted these shows to close. I was just asking because I know some shows that are struggling were hoping a Tony nomination would boost the BO. Now that they have been announced, it is inevitable that some are not going to last.

REDHOT...what might be "drek" to you might be GREAT ART to someone else. that is why is it art..it is subjective. To wish something closed I just find bitchy and nasty

Oh lord.
Anyway, I REALLY hate saying this but I have a feeling LSoH might be one of the next to go. I was going to say Prymate, but that closed lol

Oy a newbie with an attitude....

why is it when someone doesn't agree with a newbie, it comes down to jelousy... what exactly is it in redhot's profile that led to THAT summation? grow up...
(after reading around the boards, could there be a shill among us?)

joey - you are so right - what does being a performer have to do with wanting good theatre to happen on Broadway? I think most performers would prefer to work in wonderful shows - the way I have always had the good fortune to do.

what shows have you done, out of curiosity?

(I have to admit, magic's comeback is right up there with, "Oh yeah? You are!" Made me nostalgic for the grammar school playground.)

a childish comeback, for a childish comment
"...and though I don't wish for them to be out of work - I do wish the pieces of dreck out there that masquerade as ART would close to make room for truly good theatre."
Geez, using that standard nothing currently on Broadway would be running.
