Fergie has always struck me as somebody who I know can do much better things yet still sticks around with her inner-circle that is really just dragging her down.

Unusual Way works for me in the lower key, because the moment is so intimate and reflective (as intended). I think it would be very jarring to hear a high soprano at that moment on screen.

And they did record it in the higher key first. Nicole, while not the best singer in the world, really has a HUGE range (despite her own dismissal of it). She could have sung that song in any key they wanted.

I'm glad they went back into the studio and re-recorded it in the lower key. And seeing her walking around that fountain in the piazza at night, it seems to work beautifully.
