Posted: 12/1/09 at 11:27pmI read Sweeney's last year, but I wish I'd seen the movie first. Same with ReNt. I loved Sweeney. I ... did NOT love ReNt.

I have just like a few random questions about the movie for anyone who's seen it, and I figured I might as well post them here than start a new topic...
1) Is all of "Guido's Song" actually in the film, including the female part at the end of the song? Does he say "body's clearing 50" like in the script, or is Guido still 40? It was the first song I ever heard from "Nine" and thus has always been one of my favorites, so I'm just curious if I should expect it to be much different.
2) Does Stephanie feel like she has more to do in the movie than she does from reading this? On paper, it seems kind of like she pops up, sings a song, and leaves. Is it something that works better visually?
3) How's the "new" song for Mamma sound? Does Sophia sing it well? The only other time I've heard her vocalize was in "Man of La Mancha", which wasn't very reassuring.
Uh... thanks. Sorry to be all random and just take this off-topic, but I figured odds are someone who's caught an advanced screening might check this.

This script is a 'final script' meaning it reflects all cuts, changes, edits - and matches exactly the film as you see it in the movie theatre.
Guido does indeed have the lyric change about being '50' as opposed to 40. Stephanie is in the opening sequence, also in the press conference sequence and again in the hotel bar. She with all the women appears in the finale.
The song for Mama is to the tune of the "Waltz from Nine" from the original stage production. Sophia Loren isn't much of a singer, but the melody is very simple. She does fine.

Posted: 12/2/09 at 2:47pmI only read a few scenes as not to spoil the whole thing, but the way it describes the end of Unusual Way gave me goosebumps.

Same here. Just breezed thru it (one damn sensational read), but I just took down the lyrics of "Cinema Italiano". I'll read the entire script after I see the film next week at an advance screening.

I'm dying to know the lyrics to "Cinema Italiano" but I saw that it's interjected with dialogue, and I don't want to read the dialogue or know when they are making the cuts to the dialogue...it's so hard not to be spoiled around here.
Are these downloads legal?

Lyrics to "Cinema Italiano" (from the script):
I LOVE THE BLACK AND WHITE!
I LOVE THE PLAY OF LIGHT!
THE WAY CONTINI PUTS HIS IMAGE THROUGH
A PRISM.
I FEEL MY BODY CHILL
GIVES ME A SPECIAL THRILL
EACH TIME I SEE THAT GUIDO NEO-REALISM.
I LOVE THE DARK AND HANDSOME GUYS
WITH THEIR SKINNY LITTLE TIES
DRESSIN’ MOD, LOOKIN’ OUTTA SIGHT!
I LOVE TO WATCH ‘EM AS THEY CRUISE
WITH THEIR POINTY LEATHER SHOES
WEARIN’ SHADES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE
NIGHT.
WHATEVER GUIDO DOES, IT MAKES ME SMILE
HE IS THE ESSENCE OF ITALIAN STYLE.
