Your link isn't working (at least not for me).
...the saddest production I've ever seen. I couldn't sit through it again no matter how sterling the reviews.
Once a month to clarify do you mean sad as in depressing or pathetic?
And it seems like a very good review, praised a lot, but the actually premise of the show. Still I am excited.
Its a good review. Its not a money review. I think whats going to be interesting to see is if there are enough producers out there who are willing to lose money to see this show have a New York revival, because its just never going to make back an investment outside of a company like Lincoln Center or CTG funding it.
I think ultimately if PARADE is revived, its going to need to be at MTC or the Roundabout. Unless there is somebody with a lot of money who just believes this strongly in the material...

Isn't TR coming to New York this spring in a revival of "Lend Me A Tenor"? which would preclude his participation in a spring transfer for "Parade"...
I think "Lend Me a Tenor" is still tentative. I would think if somebody stepped forward to transfer PARADE he would go with it. Of course a transfer involves alot more than just physically moving this production.
This is one of the few shows I think could benefit from a feature film treatment. I would love to see this on the big screen with beautiful cinematography.
Parade was SAD, not at all pathetic. I enjoy a good tear jerker but I was so horrified by the story and man's inhumanity that I couldn't deal with it musicalized. There is a lot of lovely music, it was just a production I never wanted to relive again...sort of like the movie Schindlers List. They actually bothered me more than they uplifted me.
Maybe it's that old northern Catholic German guilt, lol!
