There was a FULL reading of Magic Mike yesterday in NYC.

Why would they WANT to be involved in such a HATED show as "Wicked".....

Anybody here see (or know someone that has seen) the latest reading with the new cast? Would love to hear some feedback.

There is dialog in the show. If it EVER is revived again, it is a MUST see!

See it! The entire tour cast is really good. I have seen it twice. I would recommend taking advice from only those that have actually seen it (some people on this board are a little biased). Google some reviews and see what they have to say. There are even a few on this website from a couple of different cities.

OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health administration) is a Government organization that is surely involved already. Between that entity, the Union and the City, there should be plenty of safe guards. If it truly is a significant danger to the actors or audience, I think these groups will work together to make it safer for all.

I saw the show this weekend from the 2nd row Mez stage left and it was not a problem at all with one small exception-I had a little trouble hearing Brian d'Arcy James (but just a little). I believe you'll be fine anywhere in the orch section. It is not a large theater and there aren't any bad sight lines with the way the set is designed and how the show is blocked . Hope that helps!

Adam is not rehearsing for the tour. He and Emma are going to be vacation covers for the Broadway N2N. Curt Hansen is also back this week to cover.

If you watch the very next scene (sorry, no clip available) you will also see Hayley Podschun play the receptionist in this episode.

I never said the lack of a thrust stage was the ONLY reason I don't think it will happen in the near future. However, judging by the way the LA version was nearly identical to the original Donmar Warehouse production, I think it may be of greater importance than other shows. The intimacy of the Donmar/Mark Taper venues was a big part of the success of this particular production. I also do not think that, given the current economic climate, many producers would risk financing this show because...

It would be wonderful, but I don't think it is going to happen. There is no place available (with a thrust stage)for the Donmar production. Oh well.......
