I'll be in NYC for one day (11/7) with a club at my university. I already have tickets to see a matinee of Spring Awakening, and I wanted to see another show in the evening. However, our bus is leaving at 11 PM and I'm not quite sure where pickup is, but I'm assuming somewhere near Midtown... What one-act musicals or plays do you recommend to see and have enough time to get back to the bus? Thanks so much.

Look up the run time of shows you're interested in and go from there.
If you haven't already seen it, get a ticket for Fun Home! It's 90 minutes, and it's stunning.

Fun Home is definitely the most feasible show to catch an evening performance of and be somewhere by 11 p.m. (it's also brilliant, so there's that!).

I am also suggesting Fun Home which is wonderful and the short run time is perfect for you!
That's not a bad idea! I've seen it already but I'd be more than willing to see it again!

I would confirm where the bus is picking you up, then pick the show. Many shows should get out by 10:40. If you only have one or two blocks to catch the bus, then most shows would be feasible.
I would love to know how one can get tickets to Fun Home just like that! Please explain.
You go to Telecharge, select the November 7 performance, click any orange or blue seat, and buy it?!

Or wait until it sells out, and try to buy an SRO ticket?

There's this nifty little website called Telecharge, where you can purchase tickets to shows in advance!

And have you tried that?

Oh really, I had no idea!

I got front row day of. It's not unusual. Plus, if it's only one ticket, it's a lot easier in my experience.
op, you could look into Sleep No More. It's cool and you can pick your entry time.

Front row - $250
back - $160
If that's ok with you, enjoy the show!
That's a separate issue from what show can someone fit in before an 11pm bus. Plus, there is lotto, SRO, TodayTix, and discounts available (https://www.theatermania.com/broadway/discount-tickets/fun-home_305453/)
But the OP didn't ask us to manage their finances, only suggest which shows fit their schedule... ![]()

Have you been in that theater? The back row is maybe 30ish feet from the front row. Last row isn't a bad thing here nor is front row. I don't get your point.
If that's ok with you, enjoy the show!

And when so many of you suggested Fun Home, it piqued my interest. Sorry I asked, After Eight

Ooooooh, call the message board police! Don't bother, they're here.

That's ok hon.

Heh, no one understood the point you were making. They wanted tickets, and you seemed to be implying they were sold out, which is what I thought you were saying, so... that was the confusion. I mean, if someone asked for Hamilton tickets, and we said go to Ticketmaster, that would be bad advice...
I once took a look at telecharge to possibly get a ticket. Every date I selected was sold out. And when there was finally a date with available seats, they were $254.
For locals, it is a pretty sweet deal with lotto/SRO. I just played lotto any day I was free until I won... $32 or something. Easy.

I really don't like seeing things twice.... So if you want something else, I would suggest Hand To God, as it would be over by 10PM and is closing somewhat soon.
