NYMF questions

Based on what you've seen or heard, which musical festival shows on the 29th and 30th would you recommend? I'm most interested in:

The Screams of Kitty Genovese
The Night of the Hunter
Hot and Sweet
This Could Be Love
The Man in My Head
Party Come Here
Behind the Limelight

Also, I haven't seen running times posted. Maybe I've missed it, but I don't want to schedule two shows too close together, or too close to tickets I have for Broadway those nights. Can anyone help?

Thank you!

re: NYMF questions

Party Come Here has a killer cast Kerry Butler, Terrance Mann, Kaitlin Hopkins and HUnter Foster.
when ducks grow thumbs then maybe my opinion will change.

re: NYMF questions

If I had to pick I'd do:

Party Come Here
Night of Hunter
Man in My Head

mostly because of the casts.

PCH is completely sold out.

re: NYMF questions

Saw Party Come Here last night - was very good, with an excellent cast (which definitely helped). Hunter Foster, Terrence mann, and others were all very entertaining!

re: NYMF questions

I'm seeing Party Come Here on Thursday night. I would appreciate if someone who has seen it could tell me an approximate running time. It would be helpful to know for my travel arrangements. Thanks!

re: NYMF questions

It ran 1:40 with a ten minute intermission. We saw an 8:00 pm show, out at 10:00 pm.

Wife made same comment about Hunter - she hadn't previously noted how cute he was....

re: NYMF questions

Can't wait to see Party Come Here... Friday at 4:30.
So far, I've seen a bunch of shows in the festival and my favorite has been "Lunch".
Although Oedipus for Kids was hilarious!!! (and a close second)
[title of show] on Broadway. it's time. believe.

re: NYMF questions

Thanks for the info, ken. That helps!

re: NYMF questions

Behind the Limelight's running time is a little under 2:15, including intermission. Even with a late start you'd be out of the show on the 30th by 3:30.

I have a friend who saw Party Come Here today and he loved it.

re: NYMF questions

Oh, sweet Jesus. I'm going tomorrow though, with a 9pm start. No way I stay awake for the whole thing. That's way past my bedtime!

re: NYMF questions

Yeah, I really can't stay that late and then have to commute to Queens. I'm either going to try to cancel my ticket or exchange it for that Saturday show or something. I know its sold out but they probably have a cancellation line or something. Does anyone here wanna trade???

re: NYMF questions

All NYMF shows have a waiting list at the box office, first come first serve. Extra house seats are sold and at curtain time any empty seat is resold. There is NO late admission.

re: NYMF questions

Thanks for your quick response! I hope they will allow me to return my ticket tomorrow night in order for it to be re-sold. (I do want me $20 back - what can I say? That's a lot of money to me!) I hope that I'm able to catch the show on Saturday. Those who have seen it, what say you?

re: NYMF questions

DivaBrigader, please check your PM. I am interested in purchasing your ticket for tomorrow night's show!

re: NYMF questions

I seriously doubt they will refund your ticket. Since they are willing to resell sold seats at curtain time, I dont think they are doing refunds.

re: NYMF questions

I think Bob might be a better bet, or trying to sell it to someone on the waiting list. If you do sell it to Bob, you should be able to just foward him your confirmation email and he can use that at the theatre. I think!

re: NYMF questions

Sorry, but I found Party Come Here to be the biggest disappointment of the festival.

I hate trashing shows in public and try to be fair-minded in my assessments, but I have nothing good to say about this one. (Okay, here's something: most of the performers are wonderful. It's the show itself that isn't.)

I will PM you if you really want more, Diva. But I am trying to be kind.

If I were you, I'd let the ticket go. I wish I had. (Just being honest.)
