Sorry if this has been posted before but the search engine is failing me currently. Are they planning on recording the broadway cast or is the off broadway cast recording serving as the official preservation of the show? Do we know any details if so?

It appears to be so, but dates are unknown. It was one of the conflicts during the Ars Nova billing case. They were going to allegedly head into the recording studio the same day as the Ars Nova Benefit Gala. It appears to be a possibility, whether it will come to fruition is another story.
