I don't think one will come back without the other. If they did close it, I would love to see them switch roles.

Two words are my opinion as to why we WON't see at least Matthew Broderick returning as Leo: Young Frankenstein. He's probably pissed to have been considered in the running since its inception and then not even being invited to the Seattle workshop. Throw in the rumors of the casting of the title character (which can be seen on many other threads) and I think that Matthew Broderick has just about had it with The Producers.

Agreeing with most everyone by saying Lane likely won't be back, and I don't think Broderick would do the show without Lane. I think their credibility is to much at stake to do the show again.

I've thought it funny how this thread keeps popping. The real questions I'd like answered are these...

When PHANTIOM eventually closes, will they bring back Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman to close it?

When RENT closes, will they bring back Anthony, Daphne, Idina, Taye, Adam, Wilson, Fredi, and Jesse?

When CHICAGO closes, will they bring back Bebe and Ann?
