Is front row MEZZ of the Nederlander a bad idea because of the railing? I've seen differing opinions/pictures online and want to ask the real experts on this forum haha.
If not, any recommendations for where NOT to sit in the ORCH?

Front row MEZZ is great at Nederland and arguably better than some orchestra seats as it's closer to the stage w/ any obstruction
Front Row Mezz at Nederlander are absolutely perfect seats. I saw War Paint seated there and can't imagine a better spot in that theater.
Edit: I wanted to add that our group had folks of various heights and the railing/bar was not a problem for anyone.

Thanks for the intel! Interesting that some folks online seemed to have a problem with the railing.

To be fair, it's been over 20 years since I sat front row mezz there for Rent, but I recall the seats being absolutely perfect with no issues from the railing whatsoever, so I've always been a bit confused at all the hate it gets.
The last time I was at the Nederlander was for Pretty Woman. I was in mezzanine row G, but I checked out row A for a friend who had a seat there later in the run. I don't know if it was because the show had a passerelle, but, sitting, back in the seat, the railing was awful. During the show, I could see the whole front mezzanine leaning forward at parts to see the front of the stage. She ended up needing to use a seat cushion.

I sat in the first few rows of the Mezz for Pretty Woman, off to the right. My memory is that the seats were extremely cramped, and that I was smashed up against the guy sitting next to me.
That being said, I can't remember anything about the railing!
