Need some suggestions

It'll be a while, but I'm going to New York at the end October and want to see two shows while I'm there. Which of the following would you theatre buffs recommend?

A Catered Affair
Cry-Baby
Glory Days
Top Girls
[Title of Show]
A Tale of Two Cities
Equus
Billy Elliot
A Chorus Line
The Little Mermaid
Curtains
Grease
Gyspy
In the Heights
Passing Strange
Spring Awakening
Sunday in the Park with George
The Homecoming
Thurgood
Xanadu
Young Frankenstein

What kind of shows do you like? But of my personal opinion (and Greekmusicalfan will agree) In The Heights!

In The Heights and Young Frankenstien!
Hunter: Your teeth need whitening./ Heidi: You sound weird./ Jeff: You taste funny.

re: Need some suggestions

Top Girls, Curtains, Sunday in the Park with George, The Homecoming and Thurgood are all scheduled to be closed by October.

I'd go with Gypsy and Passing Strange.

Cry Baby will be closed!
He's a faker, and you've been taken in by his con. And in doing so, you are enabling him. He is doing more damage to aspergers than papa's words ever could. -Chane/Liverpool on me having asperger syndrome.

I just mentioned the shows that have official closing notices. If we were to start speculating on which other shows won't be around by October, the list would be at least seven or eight shows longer.

In The Heights and Spring Awakening

Sunday In The Park, and Xanadu. Both great shows, and they are two very different shows. Sunday is just so good it is mind-boggling and must be seen to be believed. And Xanadu provides a laugh a minute, and I would suggest the on-stage seats. Even though the actors will not be facing you the whole time the interactions and the things you can see that all the rest of the audience doesn't see more than make up for that.

re: Need some suggestions

Billy Elliot - if you understand alot of political issues from Britain.

but definitely Spring Awakening and In the Heights.

re: Need some suggestions

Billy Elliot - if you want to hear a brainless score (EEE-LEC-TRICITYYY), an uneven book, mediocre dancing (I'M MAD SO I'M GONNA TAP!!), and the inability to create an emotional connection with the characters

re: Need some suggestions

It's not on your list, but "August: Osage County". Not to be missed, in my opinion. And If I am not mistaken, isn't "Curtains" closing in June?

edit: per Playbill.com, Curtains is closing on June 29th.
