Need your help finding a song---think it's from Shall We Dance

So, I'm pretty ignorant on Broadway musicals, I'll admit.

Last night I was on my way home and heard a song on my XM radio and I think the play title was "Shall We Dance" but I couldn't find the song anywhere on the internet connected to that musical. The musical DEFINITELY had "Dance" in the title.

The song was a slow Sarah Vaughnish type song with an orchestra background. She was singing about dancing with someone. I know, very friggin' vague but I need to find this song because I really want to play it for my fiance as a candidate for our first dance at our wedding.

Just a stab in the dark hoping someone can give me some leads on which to follow. :) THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

The Internet Broadway Database doesn't list a play by that name. The Internet Movie Database lists one at http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0029546/
(It's a Rogers and Astaire film). Apparently the famous song from that movie is They Can't Take That Away from Me.
To further throw confusion, there's a song from The King and I called Shall We Dance?

Thanks chief! Still looking---is there a simple way to find every musical ever done on Broadway with the word "Dance" in it? Or is there a list of all broadway musicals out there somewhere?

The song may be "Shall We Dance" from the movie of the same name by The Gershwins. The song is also in "Crazy for You" which IS available on CD. Here are the lyrics:

Guys and gals, I really, really appreciate y'all helping me out with this.

Still looking though. Listened to "Never Gonna Dance" and many versions of "Shall we Dance" on napster but none are it. And after reading the lyrics, I know that's not it The song she is singing is very about her, what she's getting out of the relationship, the dance, that kind of theme.

I listened to "They can't take that away from me" but the slower and more sultry version by Anita Ellis and that is very close to what I think I'm looking for. However, I know there is a short orchestral break in the middle of the song and that one didn't have it.

Damn, I can't believe I forgot this. It was only 10 miles from work to home, one would think!!

Ok, found the song. It isn't from "Shall We Dance" the musical, but, from a CD entitled "Shall We Dance". The song is "Dance a little closer" by Liz Robertson.

Now, load it up and give it a spin.

Found these musicals with "Dance" in the title:
"Born to Dance"
"Dance a Little Closer"
"Dance of the Vampires"
"Never Gonna Dance"
"Song and Dance"
"Tap Dance Kid"

I would take a closer look at "Born to Dance" as it is a Cole Porter musical and the song you are looking for might fit best into one of his.

"Dance a Little Closer" was, I believe a FLOP musical based on "Idiot's Delight" by Robert Sherwood which was big hit for Lunt and Fontaine (for those of you who don't know, they were the Brangelina of their time in the 30's)

"Dance" was a one performance wonder with music by Charles Strouse and Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. It starred Len (God) Cariou and Liz Robertson.
