So I just watched the Broadway.com video for the Threepenny press junket.....now, in this age of reality television, I know how misleading editing can be, but she comes off as a bit nutty. My favorite line has to be "....and some juggling." Maybe she was just trying to be funny, maybe she was just tired....maybe not? I have no idea. lol. Anyone know?

it's her humor.

She is very calm but says some nutty things, and they always sound hilarious.

She's very nice though, and really seems to care about doing the best she can.

Good thing she is!

She was the nicest of all the cast of Threepenny at the stage door. She was so friendly and stood there and talked with me for a few minutes. Plus she is an incredibly devoted and fantastic performer.

yes, without question they are all fantastic but Nellie stands out for me as incredibly nice.

"I try to avoid the rest of the cast as much as possible.." (why is that?) "they're not very nice people." WTF?

"Are you excited to be here, to be doing this?" "No...not really." Again, WTF? If it's an 'act' it's annoying. I don't find her that talented vocally and that video kinda turned me off even more. What a weirdo.

She was joking around.

She is quite funny.

Why is it "annoying" - that whole segment with her, though separated in the video, probably came from one 5 minute conversation.

At least she didn't give the same generic "I love them all!" response.

She's quirky. G-d forbid.

Ya know, when The Beatles gave press conferences they were hilarious, sarcastic reactions to the stupid questions people ask at press conferences. They memorably recreated one in the landmark film "A Hard Days Night."

Half of you people would be clucking your tongues and shaking your heads at the insouciance. Me, I prefer to sit with the other half.

Crazy like a fox. She's attention getting, that's for sure. Sarcasm is a rather low form of humor, and completely unattractive in my estimation, although I think she is just pulling the interviewer's leg, rather than being truly sarcastic.
Based on my experiences with her, she is not crazy, but does cultivate a "space cadet" "kooky/unique/arty" image. I'm sure she's very nice.

I saw the show yesterday and enjoyed her performance quite a bit. It was somewhat odd yet compelling.

I'm sure she's just fine in the show, an odd girl for an odd show. It's the effort to hype and position her as a contemporary Cole Porter, next great american composer that is a source of merriment to those a bit longer in the tooth and further in the field than she. Either that's just corporate promotional nonsense, or she really Is crazy.

Streisand was the first person who came to mind. her appearances on david suskind are legend. (or am i thinking of joe franklin or both?) of course later, she absolutely blasted anyone who dared to call her "kooky" after she had gone out of her way to get attention this way.
