Incidentally, one of the shows I work on is ADDAMS and Beatrice has informed me that she wants to meet this "CarHoop" that everyone keeps informing her about. She wants to meet you at the 7-Eleven on 42nd between 8th and 9th avenues on Sunday *during* the matinee show. She says she will only show up to the meeting if you promise to buy her a Slurpee that's 1/3 Mango, 1/3 Cherry, and 1/3 Lime. And a chili dog. And a lotto scratch-off ticket. The ticket must be a winner or she will cancel your meeting.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
