Tim Federle's Better Nate Than Ever is filming in NY for Disney+ and they've transformed the New Amsterdam marquee and lobby into the fictional Lilo & Stitch Broadway musical house. Pretty cool to see! (PS I didn't take these photos)

That's kinda fun! I know it's fictional, but I don't think a Lilo and Stitch Musical is the worst idea. With the right creative team, and the right conceptual staging, I think it could work well, especially since there's already a lot of music in the movie. And you could always trim down the sci-fi parts of the story to make the staging easier. I tend to think those are the weaker parts of the movie anyway.

Can anyone else name faux marquees that were made for film/television?
Besides this I can only think of the “Funny Girl” marquee they put on the st. James for Glee and , again at the St. James, the marquee for “What We Talk About When We Talk About Love” in the movie Birdman.

Posted: 5/13/21 at 12:23pmAh yes, in the world of Smash, Hit List played the Barrymore and Bombshell played the Lily Hayes (aka the Lyceum) after their plans for the St. James fell through for tax reasons (am I remembering this right). A few episodes later they say the secured the Belasco and then we never heard about it again.
