Saw him a few weeks ago..he was great!
Sad to see Pinette leaving. Saw him on tour, and he was a very realistic, almost Divineish Edna.
I still think Lea Delaria should play Edna. :)
I saw Pinette on tour as well and he was great.

I saw him go on in February and he was great. Glad to see him in the starring role, but I hope Paul Vogt comes after.
I know Edna MUST be played by a man... but Lea is the best women for the job- if a women was to ever play Edna.
Hey if Ally Sheedy can play Hedwig.. anythings possible.
I just cheered out loud when I read that. I'm SO happy Blake is getting the part! I've spoken to him a few times after the show when he covered for John and told him he was magnificent. He was very appreciative and he joked "Write to Margo!" I'm glad to see the producers have taken notice of his wonderful performance. Mr. Pinette will surely be missed, but Edna is in good hands!

What SNLMedia said..lol. Blake is fantastic in the role and it will be great to see him as full time Edna. I'm thrilled someone other than the audience took notice of his Edna!

Now, all they need to do is bring in Jim J from the national tour for Wilbur!
Actually, if a woman is going to play the part, it needs to be Lanie Kazan. (sp?)
Excellent choice. I worked with Blake ages ago when we were still both non-equity.
Congratulations to him.
Lea would be such a terriffic Edna! But she usually plays male parts!
talking about new ednas, does anybody know how Paul Vogt did in Vegas...wasn't it his first show the other night?

saw him in March--he was fantastic! I was very upset that John was out, since he was the only person in the show (other than Leah) that I was familiar with, but Blake didn't let me down. He was amazing . Go Blake!
I saw Blake the same day Parks did. Like Parks said, he was excellent. Glad to hear he got this role.
I saw Blake last Wednesday as Edna, and he was absolutely AMAZING. You wouldn't have even known he was an understudy(except I kind of loved when he and the guy who plays Wilbur, whose name escapes me, started to laugh during Timeless to Me). Wonderful.
I saw John Pinette on tour, and didn't really like him. I haven't seen Blake as Edna but I have seen him in other shows and loved him and I am sure that he will do a much better job. I can't wait to see a photo of him in costume.

Blake makes for a fine Edna. He's had many an opportunity to go on for John, so he's ready.
Maybe Lea DeLaria should play Wilbur to Blake's Edna.
Would that confuse middle America too much?
