Seriously.... I can't explain to anyone how excited I am for this to come out. Now just to keep my fingers crossed as to how far I will have to drive to see it, because chances are, it won't be in my town at all.

I doubt this will play in too many "towns". I'm guessing only a few major cities....I can't see this bringing in too big of an audience.
That being said.....PESONALLY, I can't wait for the chance to see it.

My only question is that after it's done the extremely limited release... will it come out on dvd? What a kick to the groin that would be. Don't get to see it in theaters... and don't get to see it at home.

For those in the NY area- you can go see it and support The Actors Fund at the same time:

Posted: 3/12/09 at 6:22pmI would love to see this. It reminds me of my friend who was cut after her third audition for the original cast.

Broadway fans will love this film. I saw it last fall at the Toronto Film Festival. Donna McKechnie, Baayork Lee, Charlotte D'Amboise were all there.
Jason Tam's audition as Paul... oh my, bring the Kleenex.

I did this show a few years ago, so it hold a special place in my heart.
I am dying to see this movie!
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu#16re: New Every Little Step Trailer

Finally saw this tonight, really enjoyed it! (Some talk of the film below, consider this your spoiler warning. :))
- the New Directors/New Films crowd really seemed to love it; a few moments of crowd applause (I know Mara's audition, and Jason's, and I think at one other that I am forgetting.)
- the chance to hear parts of those original stories was amazing.
- Donna talking about being Cassie, complete with showing one of her commercials? Brilliant.
- it did a great job of showing how exhausting the auditioning process was. 4 months later... 4 months later...
- I was *fine*, completely not crying, until they interviewed Charlotte's father, in the scene right before the final call backs. When Jacques d'Amboise talked about getting his knees replaced, and how do you define yourself after "I'm a dancer" when you can't dance anymore, and then the first time he did dance again after that and how blood filled his boots by the end... I think I cried thru all of the final call backs.
- There was one blurred out face in the group of auditioning Cassies, and that was all I'd noticed, apparently everyone else consented to being on camera
- Video of teenage Jessica Lee Goldyn as Mike (legit- she was third from the left, doing "I Can Do That") was hilarity.
- Watching Nikki Snelson apparently watch Goldyn audition was possibly one of the most painful of the audition segments. The other 'competitions' (ie J. Elaine and Yuka, or watching all the Cassies, etc.) didn't feel as...harsh?...as that scene did. It was a *beautiful* shot, though.
- Watching Rachelle Rak struggle with the trying to find what they'd liked that she'd done at the audition four months ago was also painful.
- I wish we'd seen more of Deidre's story
- I'm already wondering what extras are going to be on the dvd. :)
