New song in Rent?

I searched, and didn't find any discussion over this, so sorry if it's already been discussed.

In Rosario's blog, she mentioned recording something that was a surprise, and that's the last thing they are doing....that's what I heard, at least.

Anyone think they may have recorded one of Jonathan's songs that he cut from the musical just for the credits? If they did, it could be up for best song!

No it can't. The song has to be written specifically for the movie in order to be eligable for that.

Anthony had already said that they were recording a special song for during the credits. That's probably what it is.

how great would it be if it WAS a song written for the movie and sung by the whole cast, so it could be nominated for an oscar, and then ALL of them perform at the oscars??

It can be a new song but not one that Jonathan wrote and cut from Rent. I think that's what noday meant.

What about that bonus track on the Tick Tick Boom OCR.

"This is the life..bo-bo-bo-bo...boheeeeeeeemia..."

Long shot, but it *could* be, since it wasn't actually *in* Tick Tick Boom. Also fits with the RENT themes. Just a thought.

How long till Nov. 23? Now I know how my brothers felt waiting for Star Wars Episode 3...

Adam Chris... come on! Don't you think the whole "door... wall.... door... wall..." would be a REALLY uplifting note on which to leave the theatre? And I'm sure the lovely Mr. Pascal could deliver QUITE the rendition.

90 days, or 129,600 minutes (did I get that right? Arithmetic was never my strong subject...)

I doubt it will be Boho Days, but I was dreamin' (it would work well though!)

It would be cool to hear Boho Days but I'm pretty sure they'll pick a different song.

Actually, when I think about it, 90 days doesn't seem to bad. It's just that I have RENT movie stuff to keep me occupied 'till the movie comes out.

If I had to guess I'd say it's probably another slightly different version of SoL, like on the OBC. Not as exiting but I think it's pretty likely.

I hope it's either "Boho Days" or one they cut (like "For Someone Cool, You're a Fool" or "Female to Female") but I doubt it. Just pray that if the song does go up for a Oscar, the cast gets to perform it and not Beyonce or whoever.
