How was their final performance? I heard all of the swings went out during the finale & curtain call. Besides that, was there anything else special?
What? They started at 3pm, how could you know about the finale that hasn't happened yet?

Was at the lottery this morning. they gave out over 100 tickets, they had the cast calling the winners One guy won ran up and hugged the whole cast. Very cute.

Someone on Tumblr posted that her friend told her
Then that person must be predicting those things since it hasn't happened yet.

With the show closing, I hope the cast for the tour is announced soon.

Some have been predicting that Adam Kaplan will play Jack. Jeff Heimbrock from Book Of Mormon is in the cast.
Very enthusiastic crowd, several standing ovations throughout the show... not sure about the swings, etc., but Thomas Schumacher gave a speech at the end about how the show they originally expected to do 101 performance had over 1,000... most of the creative team took to the stage including Harvey and Howard Ashman, and they basically stayed onstage hugging and such while the orchestra played them out...
Howard Ashman was onstage? Did Disney bring out a hologram for the closing show? (Howard Ashman sadly passed away in 1991.)
That's what I was assuming :) happy closing, Newsies!
Their social media team is on the ball.

I just heard at the end of Aladdin when the Genie was free, JIM paid tribute to Newsies, by saying he's finally going to Sante Fe. :)
And here is the Curtain Call speech:

Those who made the predication will be disappointed. Adam was passed on for someone else. I do not know who, but I know he was not cast in the national tour.

Wait, what? I just double checked, the link works fine. How did that happened?

That's a little bit surprising that he didn't get the role or any part in the show because of his experience in Newsies

From what I understand, he only auditioned for Jack and was not offered any other part. But casting is a fluid situation and this could always change. I was told about a month ago that someone else had been offered the role.
I was going to way how wrong that casting would be until I saw him perform Santa Fe. His voice is a little high, but other than that, he seems like a perfect Jack.
Adam Kaplan - Santa Fe
