Hello All!
I am going to be in the city next month and am getting tickets for Newsies. I am trying to decide whether to sit in left orchestra row L or left mezzanine row dd.The thing I am most concerned about is the mezzanine overhang in the orchestra. Any advice and help is greatly appreciated.

First of all, welcome to BWW! Check out this thread it has the info you are looking for:

I have seen the show four times from the mezzanine (left, center and right). Much of the show takes place on the upper level of the set so I think that it's better from there. I have had friends who have sat in the orchestra section and enjoyed that as well. If you don't want to spend the extra money for the orchestra, you will definitely love the show from the mezzanine. Enjoy!
My family and I sat in the first row of the mezzanine and loved it. I will point out if you are a shorter person, the rail may hinder you a bit so maybe a row or two back may help.

I saw it from the balcony. You definitely want mezzanine or balcony seating for this one. A large portion of the show takes place on the upper level(s) and the mezzanine overhang does block the action.
The balcony?! There is no balcony at the Nederlander.

I agree. I would NOT want to see this show from the orchestra. Mezz is much better. The set has two levels and when the actors are on the second level, they are right in front of you. I have seen it twice - once center and once left mezz- perfect seats.

Ok thank you for the advice. Do you know if there is a point on the sides of the mezzanine where the view becomes obstructed? If so do you have any idea when that may start?
Just saw this again, took my parents, and told them that our upper mezz seats were practically like having orchestra seats because so much of the set was elevated. Try to get as center as possible, without worrying about how high up the seats are.

This show also often shows up at TKTS. I got fourth row center in the Orchestra section at the Brooklyn Booth the day before for the Sat. matinee. It was a little close for some of the big dance numbers, but I still enjoyed the show a lot and was able to see the entire stage-even when the characters were on the upper levels.
