Today Times states special apperances by Sammy davis, Jerry Robbins, Gwen Verdon and Bob Fosse.
However, rumor has it Liza, Bebe, or Antonio.
inquiring minds want to know.

Well, the first grouping would be kinda hard to book.
I still fail to see why this is categorized as a musical when its constantly changing like this. If this isn't a Special Event, I don't know what is.
Ehhh... Gwen Verdon? Are they charging extra that night?
Question..if this is a musical....
Is Chita eligible for Best Actress?

I believe so, yes. Because of who she is, she'll probably get a nom. I mean, what can you say? She's unconvincing as herself?
sorry..didn't see the whole other thread...I posted my thoughts there.
I want to see dead people!
I was really confused for a little while, but wow do I want to see dead people!
I see dead hoofers!
I like the guest star thing. And you can't blame Chita for the show being up for Best Musical. Blame the Tony Awards.
If they can't get Lilo, Donald O'Connor and Doug Henning, I'm not going.
Yeah, speaking of Bajour, was it even mentioned in Chita's show? You get a full number from Seventh Heaven, but I can't remember if she ever brought up the subject of Bajour. I wouldn't have minded hearing "I'm Mean" or "Love Line". Or if she had any memory of Michael Bennett dancing in the chorus.
Yeah I think she skips over Bajour. Must not have been a good experience. I love "Mean". She's fierce on it. Does she skip over Bring Back Birdie too? There are a few numbers from that score that I would love to hear her do.

Chita does mention Anyanka in Bajour in passing. I was listening for it, and I almost missed it because she sort of mumbled through that line.
Nothing from 1491 either! What's a flop lover to do?
Or Merlin or Zenda.
I smell sequel..."Chita Rivera: A Flop Queen's Life"

Liza seems the logical choice. But Nancy Dussault! I would be first in line. They can do "I Can"
the night i was there last week she mentioned both merlin and bring back birdie
seeing dick van dyke and chita on stage was amazing - i'd love to see them bring in more old time classic broadway and entertainment legends....especially the dead ones!!

oh, liza does seem like a possibility - and one I'd love to see!
antonio also seems like a smart box office move.
and bebe has done talk-backs for shows she isn't in (The Good Body, If I recall?), for support. So, I can imagine her doing this.
maybe bea arthur singing garbage while chita recreates her dance, jumping in an out of the garbage can. hehe
can anyone think of someone else?

Just don't call Chita, Miss Bird's Eye because...well you guys know this already.
Liza would be great. They wouldn't do NOWADAYS.. for obvious reasons.
But they would obviously do DON'T AH MA ME, and maybe HOT HONEY RAG? Ignorant question : can Liza still dance?
I don't think Chita is all that fond of Liza. She made a couple of not-so-nice comments regarding The Rink ("Liza wanted to prove to herself...and her fans...that she could do something other than 'Liza With A Z'", "Nobody wanted to see Liza in a housedress. Me they had no trouble seeing in a housedress, but not her", "Finally they brought in Halston to design two red dresses for the finale but it didn't help").
Why not Elaine Stritch? They did Call Me Madam together. Or is Stritch running the risk of becoming overexposed?
Carol Lawrence from West Side Story?
Jason Alexander, also from The Rink?
Aurthur Laurents, who wrote the book for West Side Story?
Rather than just doing a song and dance, I'd love to have Chita and her guest pull up a couple of stools and dish the dirt. Who wouldn't have loved to hear Chita and Dick tell a juicy Paul Lynde or Kay Medford story?
OK, aren't there rules about making changes after opening night, I mean, since this has been deemed a real live "musical" now?
Or do rules not apply, because after all, "she's Chita!"
Hushpuppy! Those are some wonderful choices.
In the Golden Days (and even post golden era) some musicals were never really "frozen." Directors and choreographers would make exceptions for new stars. Fosse did it a lot. CHICAGO got MANY changes when Liza joined. In the old days that never stopped a show from being nominated for major Tonys. Chita's show is bringing back vibes and feelings of the old days with all of this. It's a wonderful feeling. As she says in the show. who needs helicopters and chanderleirs on stage? (and let me add flying witches) This is SOOO much more exciting. The human body is much more exciting.
Foster you come off more hostile and hopeful to see the show fail, than a Chita fan.

The show already did fail, hun. It doesn't need my help.
It sucks that the show's producers have to stoop to cheap ploys like guest stars in a pre-existing show to sell tickets. What is this, Will & Grace?
