i say Wicked will be one in 2010.

I'd love a revamped Hairspray, but like ala Rent w/ the OBC thing.

wow now we are all taking advice from an 8 ball. how fantastic. although i do agree with Defyingpopular about Wicked in 2010...

Kristin Chenoweth could barely control a Great Dane she trotted onto the stage. "Great, they gave me a dog that weighs five times what I do", she quipped. For the record, she weighs 93 pounds, and has a Maltese.

I don't think it would bomb! Can you imagine a fast paced trailer with the evacuation scene music blazing in the background. The image of the helicopter landing in a dark street with people manicaly running round it and the rain pouring down... then the screen goes black, the music to the sacred bird starts, a spot light is on Chris holding Kim! Only it's in sillohette and we just here him scream then suddenly MISS SAIGON appears on the screen. A montage of images in and around the helicopter obviously... i recokon it would attract a lot of curiosity!

Stars Kristin Chenoweth. Read about it here:

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I dont think wicked should be on the big screen, or any screen, its a stage show dammit. and if they did make one, i wouldnt see it unless they had the obc( thats right, idina kristin, michelle, and norbert and the chorus.) do it.
But also, am i the only one who think there should be a remake of POTO, with the entire cast and crew except Emmy and the phantom? Emmy Rossum sucked, and the phantom sucked. I mean if they were dubbed it might have been a little more satisfying. I dont know if its just me, but the phantom makes a big hipe about his own personal musical talents and christines talents so shouldnt they have had better voices? emmy was weak, and childish, and then the phantom had a damn lisp. speech impediment+ lisp = beautiful thrilling music? i think not. On the upside, it was visually stunning, and minnie driver kicked ass, and Partick wilson.....mmmmmm...Patrick Wilson......mmmmmmm.

I loved it too, in fact i watched it three times in a row the first night. (i had nothing better to do), but I thought emmy was supposed to be a big opera singer? maybe she was just acting, but i dont like her voice. But then again, she was only 17. so i'll have to give her her props.

I agree, Spamalot should be a movie, not the holy grail, but the new musical. With the obc.

Saying that you predict that Rent and The Producers will be movies is not a prediction, so please. Stop.

Eh. Spamalot as a movie strikes me as redundant and taking away from Holy Grail.

I agree with Piazza as a fantastic movie.

Wicked's already in the works to be a movie. Back in December, there was an article about Britney Spears wanting to audition for the role of Elphaba after seeing the show. She loved it. Not joking.

Bill Finn rocks. Woot.

i would not see the movie version of Wicked if they gave Elphaba to Britney Spears and i love the show! But they need to being back the OBC if they make a movie version of Wicked.

I'm kind of a sweat pant, t-shirt, no make-up type of girl. So once a year, I can get spiffy. Sutton Foster :)

I would see it just to get a laugh...

Imagine Elphaba humping the ground to "The Wizard and I"

....THAT'S what Britney would do to the role....

I would LOVE to see a television version of 42nd Street. I love the old Warner Bros. movie, but let's face it - it and the stage show are worlds apart. Get Patrick Cassidy to play Julian, Christine Ebersole to play Dorothy, Sutton Foster as Peggy Sawyer, Faith Prince as Maggie... it'd be PHENOMENAL. (And with the exception of Sutton, these are also faces - if not names - people are familiar with from movies and television.)
