The trend seems to be to move the National Tour Tracy to Broadway; and Keala Settle has been doing this for a while, so it will probably be her. In that case, Katrina Rose Dickerson (Keala's understudy) would play Tracy in the tour.
It could also be Shannon's Understudy, Michelle Dowdy.
There is always a chance that they will pick a totally new tracy from an open casting call.(not likely)

Keala Settle delivers the best sung Tracy, in my opinion. I'd love to see her do it on Broadway.

I don't think so...Although, if a MAJOR emergency came up where the regular Tracy AND her u/s were unavailable; they'd have to find someone else in the cast. (Certainly they wouldnt lose all of that ticket revenue by CANCELLING the show!)

on broadway the standby is michelle dowdy and understudy is donna vinano and on tour it is christine danielson(as of this coming tuesday) and natalie hill i think.

Whoever plays Shelley is usually also the understudy for Tracy.

Marissa Perry, no doubt. The girl was the cover or understudy or whatever in Toronto and she's fierce.

Marissa trained with the Toronto cast (as did Katrina) but she was never used.

The only Tracy to come from the national tour was Carly Jibson. The other two replacements (Kathy Brier and Shannon Durig) were both the Bradway standbys. I think this is a mute point, since Shannon is gonna be around until next summer anyway.

For those of you who asked...The current tour standby (Well, technically understudy) is Christine Danelson, one of my very close friends who is amazingly only 18 years old. She just officially started covering on Tuesday so everyone send some "good luck" vibes! She is fantastic and I would love to see her on Broadway eventually.

Liza Minelli was 19 when she starred in Flor, The Red Menace. There have been a lot of young stars in shows. Just b/c Marissa Jaret Winokur is over 30, doesn't mean that all of her predescessors (sp?) need to be that age, too. They have to pull off a high school girl on stage. That's all. I'd actually rather see a younger performer do it. They'd probably have more spunk and energy, and spark of making their Broadway debut, or something.
