I just checked telecharge.com and the tickets are on sale. It seems they are, in fact, going to a six-performance schedule in June. Are there any other shows that have ever done this?
This is confusing. I thought that it was just a typo, but there truly aren't tickets on sale for Sundays after May 25, and there are only 6 performances per week after that point. I wonder if some other show is taking the theater on Sundays and Mondays -- if it was just that they wanted to do 6 performances a week for some reason, I would think that they would have a performance on Sunday and eliminate Tuesdays. (Although that still doesn't explain why they wouldn't do a Weds matinee and at least have 7 performances.) Only having 6 performances a week would make it hard for the show to be financially viable, unless it is something like they are sharing rent with another show.
Is is possible they're waiting to see how the 2-show Sundays sell and then make a decision? They can always add in more dates if necessary.
I'm really not surprised they're not doing a Wednesday matinee ~ it is not the blue-haired ladies kind of show.

I was thought it was a typo as well. Especially when it said tickets would be on sale through July 12 which is a Sunday.
jordangirl, you bring up a good point. Maybe they are seeing how tickets sell before they commmit to Sundays that far in advance. I hope they do, because I will be in NYC in June and wanted to see the show on a Sunday evening.
Time will tell...

There clearly will be some kind of rush/lotto as ALL of the press releases have stated that bottom end ticket prices will be $25 and the cheapest tickets available through telecharge are 36.50 (last row mezz, still pretty good seats), but there won't be any information about the rush/lotto whatever it is until after the Box office opens next monday.

So, i just did a handful of ticket searches for various dates and it looks like the best seats available through Telecharge are row BB, so it looks like Row AA will be used for a lotto or rush and that looks like it will be from 10-12 seats.
That's what I'm thinking too. UNLESS they've removed the front for of seats... (since the seating charts presented are usually generic)

If you look at the seating chart and then look at the picture (on the shubert website) you'll notice that the front row in that picture is BB and its clear part of the stage is stickng out unusally far, so there will likely be an AA and telecharge is listing the orechestra as AA-M, but there is no tickets available for AA. If you look at other shows on on Telecharge with rushes/lottos you'll see something similar. At Avenue Q the best available tickets you can find are Row A.
I am not saying it is not possible or likely. HOWEVER, most theaters do not change the seating charts they list from show to show (Not sure where you're getting AA-M...the generic seating chart on telecharge goes through Q and orchestra seating is simply listed as "orchestra"). So it COULD be one of two things...
1) Row AA is there and will be rush or lotto.
-or-
2) They have removed row AA for this production and elected to NOT make a new seating chart but use the generic one.
edit: Ok, I see where you're getting the through M thing. Which leads me to wonder what's going on with N-Q. Seems like *that* may well be a partial view student rush kind of thing as opposed to leaving those rows empty.
I was able to get Orchestra C 110-112 for the first preview.
That six performance thing is bizarre. I'm wondering if it's true that they haven't decided on a schedule for the summer yet. Maybe during the summer months, when people are out of school, they'll add a Wednesday matinee, which would mean only one Tuesday show? They're obviously going to do 8 shows a week, it's just a question of when and how...

My money is that they're waiting to see if it's gonna be another closer-in-one-weekend.
Was anyone able to get opening night tickets?

David Stone is producing. He would not have brought this in if he didn't plan to run it through at least the Tony nominations and possibly the awards.

No tickets were coming up for opening night. I looked.

that doesn't even make sense.
I don't want to rush and spend the $116 because I bet they will have some sort of rush..if not I'll end up splurging on this show, I love it too much. I don't know how I feel about the new artwork though
I'm confused. Broadway is 8 shows a week. Some shows have done 7 shows per week during previews, but then switch to an 8 performance a week schedule.
When was the last full Broadway musical (not Special Event) that only performed six shows a week?

I don't understand that comment, either. What would that have to do with why they are only performing six shows a week?
So doesn't make sense to not be selling 8 shows. And it seems MORE odd that they wouldn't run on Sunday...which is certainly going to bring in a bigger audience than a tuesday night for example.
The world may never know.
Another BRILLIANT move by the braindead production team.
keep it up, dip****s.

where are people getting their tickets from?
telecharge says box office doesnt open for a week
x
They're getting the tickets on telecharge.
As others have stated, the producers are probably trying to get a gauge on what would be more advantageous: Two shows on Sunday or two on Wednesday.

Does anyone even think they were selling opening night tickets? Or maybe they will release some eventually? I haven't so far heard anyone who found them.
They won't release opening night tickets (if at all) until much closer to the date. They'll need to determine how many comps they have to give out first. If there are any any seats left, they may release them.

Ya that is what I was thinking. Thanks for confirming my thoughts for me! That is what I have usually seen, but I'm not usually looking for opening tickets.
The box office at THE THEATRE doesn't open until next week. Telelcharge started selling today (I think.)
And I agree about opening night....once they determine how many the PRODUCTION team needs, the rest will be released. Just keep checking in.
