She played Velma in Chicago in college. (I am actually suprised they have not tried that stunt cast yet)

I would bet my life-savings that the Weisslers have called. More than once.

Her personality and attitude may very well be terrible, at the same time though, you are making an opinion based on a show that has been edited together for the most part. Sure some of it is live, but seeing her learning the choreography etc. is all clipped together, and in the editing room is where these characters start coming out of reality. If they are only choosing to show her more bitchy moments, then that is how she is going to come off. Don't forget there is little reality going on in any of these lame reality show.
Although she is a star and there may very well be a terrible diva attitude there.

I've met and spoken with her many many times, and every time she has never been 100 percent less than beautiful and grateful.

I remember at the first PCD signing (hella years ago) I told her how beautifully talented I thought she was, she got out from behind her seat, came to stand next to me and gave me a hug thanking me. I mean, come on? That was incredibly sweet of her. And she has been ike that for years.

Even way back when she was the lead singer of Eden's Crush she was grateful and kind.
Now all I see are cute boys with short haircuts in a maze of their own...

I would never give anyone a fat lip, but if I had a dollar for every time some troll on BWW screams "STUNT CASTING" without knowing the background of the performer or their merits, it really chaps my hide. Most pop stars who haved toured the world have incredible endurance-far more than a NY theatre actor who walks a few blocks or takes a train to work every night. If folks want to get high and mighty about stunt casting, I'm ready to throw down. Nicole is a pro..

I speak only for myself when I say I have a problem with Karen Olivo. I do not need others to agree with me, but I am entitled to my feelings.

I tried several times to see Karen in both ITH and WSS to no avail. To me she is as unreliable (I didn't say unprofessional) as Fantasia (who I attempted 4 times).

I think Ms. Scherzinger is a more reliable performer than many people on Broadway. Just how I feel-you don't have to agree.

I saw Olivo 7 out of 7 times in WSS (I went once to see Natalie, so that doesn't count).
So I guess I'm lucky?

A stunt cast person can be talented. (I.e.- Corbin Bleu, Jordin Sparks) But it does not mean that the producers do not want to cash in on a name .

I know shows like that are edited. But it was more whining that got on my nerves and her fake "This is hard!" crap. Also, at a fan signing, people tend to act nicer since that is what they are getting paid to do.

But according to Evan Lsyachek, Kate Gosselin is the nicest person in the world and theyw ent out of their way to make her look like super bitch.

This is not a dig at Nicole, I know she has done Summer Stock, but it always gets me that they make it seem so hard that a contestant has to learn one routine in a week! And if they should have to learn two, Holy Crap!
Yet, Replacements on B'way or tours learn a whole show sometimes in less than a week.

Don't get me started on the Evan being gay thing.

This is how I look at it if someone says their straight I go by that until they say otherwise.

But, it is like assuming that all the men on Broadway are gay which we know is not true.

I've no reason to believe Evan L. isn't straight, but my, like, fifth-hand knowledge of him is that he's a bit of a PITA himself. But, again, fifth-hand. And now I'm way OT, I guess.

I saw WSS twice, saw Karen twice, was totally blown away twice. And I think she's adorable in interviews, so I'm predisposed to like her. But what the hell. None of that precludes Nicole Scherzinger having more chops than DWTS or PCD have showcased and/or her having the chops to be a replacement Anita, and that being the topic of this thread, I'ma concede that those of you who are fans of hers know more about it than I do and bow out here. :)

I think they are relying on the knowledge of her training and her performance in "Rent."

her fake "This is hard!" crap.

I did not watch the show, but I really just don't think you can judge a person's character based on a reality show appearance. You never know what the producers or the people in the editing room are doing to manipulate them.

First of all, as IAMmyownMUSICAL mentioned, are you basing this off of edited clips of Dancing With the Stars, or have you actually met her? TV editing can do wonders to make someone look worse than they actually are.

Second of all, even if she has a terrible personality, who cares as long as she can deliver onstage? There are plenty of talented actors out there who have bad attitudes. I'm paying to see them onstage and couldn't care less about their attitude before or after the show.

You say you don't want her to tackle a Broadway show simply because you don't like her? Well, why do you say this if you also stated you don't doubt her abilities or training?

The way some people are carrying on, you'd think Nicole skinned a live cat on DWTS.
