I searched, but couldn't seem to find a clear answer. What time should I show up to the box office to rush Night Music for a Wednesday night performance. I was thinking 8:30, but any/all input is appreciated!

Thanks everyone!

That should be sufficient. Even later would be okay, I can imagine. I arrived on a Sunday at 11 am and easily got a seat. 8:30 should be more than fine, but if you like to play it safe, you'll surely get a seat arriving then.

That's what I thought. Thanks! How were your seats?

I showed up at 9:15am on a Wednesday in mid July and there were only 5 people in front of me for a 2 show day. By 10am there were maybe 20-25 people in line.

My daughter and I went twice in July. First time was a Wednesday, and we got there at around 8AM. We were 2nd in line, and got seats in the box. A couple of weeks later, we went on a Saturday. We got there at 8:30AM, were 1st in line, and got front row center seats.

I'm going on Saturday, but I don't plan to get there until 9ish. Getting there at that time got me rush back in the Zeta-Jones/Lansbury days. So, I should be fine this weekend.

I got there at about 5:00 last Wednesday night (right as the matinee was letting out) and was still able to get tickets at that point.

Bumping this thread because I am thinking about rushing for the first time ever to get a ticket for my friend. Are there set sections that they always give out in order, or is it always a different section they give out?

Last thursday a friend and I rushed just a couple of hours before the show. We got the second row of the balcony center. Granted, you're basically dangling from the ceiling up there.

The earlier you get there, the better. You can get everything from front row center to balcony--whatever's not sold--but if you care about where you sit, I'd do it in the morning, not a couple of hours before the show. It's a great deal no matter where you sit!

I'm planning to rush the Sunday of labor day weekend but my train doesn't arrive until about 9:45 am. Do rush crowds tend to be larger or arrive earlier on holiday weekends?

Two weeks ago from Sunday I arrived at the theater around 7:30. Nobody else showed up until about an hour later. Got two front row. Last two on the left but there are only four seats front row left, perfect seats. Getting there early is always better than later!

People showed up more that 3 hours before the box office opened? I'm rushing this Sunday (like backwoodsbarbie) and was planning to get there at 10 since the box office opens at noon.

Do you really recommend getting there at 8:30? I'm coming to NY from Ann Arbor *just* to see this show and would really like orchestra seats.

Is there also Standing Room for non-students?

^ It is student rush, but only standing room when the performance is sold out.

I rushed on a sunday for the matinee and got there at 1030 for a noon opening and was 13th in line and got front row, far house right seats and the view was amazing

They're still selling standing room as student rush if there are no more seats left.

I got there yesterday at about 10:30 am and was approximately 15th in line. I sat row F, far house left and it was an amazing seat. The show was phenomenal.

I rushed ALNM on the last Saturday in August. A friend and I arrived at the box office at about 9:30, and there were 10-15 people in front of us. By the time the box office opened, there were about 10-15 people behind us as well. Most people asked for the evening show, and we wanted the matinee. We specifically asked for house seats, and were given third row extreme right. There was very minimal obstruction, and I would definitely sit there again. The guy in the box office was very nice, too!

I got a balcony seat via rush for this past Sunday's evening performance around 2 PM. I've heard from others they're selling great orchestra seats for rush (I'm sure I only got the balcony because I showed up later in the day). If you want a great seat, get there early, but if for some reason you're running late it's still well worth a shot.
