I did a little April Fool's joke about Taylor Swift recently, but this is not a joke. Swift might possibly collaborate with Harvey Weinstein on a new Broadway musical. Swift does have great songwriting skills and this might not be a bad collaboration. What do you all think about this?

Word on the street says that it's going to be a musical about a young innocent country girl who finds success as a singer/songwriter. She wins the industry's most prestigious award and just as she steps to the microphone, tears in her eyes, to proclaim her love of life and God, a black man runs out of the wings, grabs the microphone and says that someone else deserves the award.

There will be three different point-of-view songs: one from the POV of the country girl, one from the POV of the black man, and one from the Diva who should have won. I hope Patina Miller plays the Diva who should have won.

Ok, I'm a big fan of Taylor Swift and I think she's a great songwriter, but FINDING NEVERLAND?! That's the most random person to write songs for it. Out of all Tony-winning musical theatre writers...Taylor Swift???

You definitely need to work on your reading comprehension. Harvey Weinstein is courting Swift to write for a different new musical and, as part of that process, invited her to come to a reading of FINDING NEVERLAND - the other new musical he's currently developing and producing, which already has a book and score and has been produced in London.
