#1No adult cast members come out of the Annie Stage door??
Posted: 5/24/13 at 1:11amSo I staged doored Annie Wednesday evening and the only cast members who came out were Jane Lynch and the kids- NO ONE ELSE, not even the ensemble cast (I only saw two come out). I asked the people who work the stage door and they told me this is normal. now I understand not coming out or signing but a few of the leads (Clarke Thorell, J Elaine Marcos, Brynn O'Malley) have always came out in other shows I have seen. Are the all leaving thru another door? it just seems strange that NONE of the adult cast members came out through the stage door, not even ensemble

Posted: 5/24/13 at 1:40amREALLY!! that explains sooo much!!! LOL. I meant, if anybody knows if they still all leave through the stage door but after everyone has left or what.

Posted: 5/24/13 at 1:53amYes, despite all the other doors, they will wait however many hours it takes for everyone to leave the stage door so they can run out without being seen instead of merely sneaking out a side door at their leisure...

The Palace has many doors. It might just be easier, and faster, to leave out other doors. They may have signed after previous shows because they had to leave out the stage door, and did not want to be rude.

Posted: 5/24/13 at 2:02amSome of the cast I had seen at that very same theatre- J. Elaine Marcos for example and she came out through there. I don't know. it just seems strange that ALL the adult cast leaves through another exit- even ensemble. I have never encountered a stage door like that, and I've seen several shows at the Palace. And for those who are giving me sarcastic answers, there is no need to talk to me like I am stupid- I am not a complete idiot.

I met up with a friend who saw the show on Thursday night (I also went the same night as the OP), and J. Elaine and Brynn both apparently came out and signed.
My guess is it's like anyone - they come out when they feel like it, and they don't when they don't. No one HAS to stage door, you know.

Posted: 5/24/13 at 2:06amMy guess is that all the kiddies want to see Hannigan and the kids. It is less chaotic for the other cast members to just exit through another door, since most people don't want to see them anyway.

Posted: 5/24/13 at 2:08amAlso, a lot of times when a show has a star or name in it, many don't come out simply because they believe no one really cares much about them and are simply there for the name/star. Case in point - the recent How to Succeed revival.
#10No adult cast members come out of the Annie Stage door??
Posted: 5/24/13 at 2:12amTrue facts, but what was funny is I asked the stage door guys and they all told me that the rest never come out anymore. I am well aware no one HAS to come out the stage door and sign- I even said that in my first post.

Posted: 5/24/13 at 2:14amI am literate, I read your first post. I also happened to be there that night, as well, and asked a similar question to yours (mostly in specific reference to Anthony Warlow) and was told a similar story.

Posted: 9/2/13 at 5:07pmJust wondering if anyone knows if Faith Prince stage doors? I went to the stage door after yesterday's performance, and she didn't come out, but I'd like to know if that's a regular thing

Not to be snarky, but why do people bother asking these questions? Even if a cast member has a reputation for coming out the stage door to sign autographs doesn't mean they'll do it all the time. People say they know an actor doesn't have to sign, yet this board is always inundated with questions asking if [insert name of actor here] comes out of he stage door.
EDIT: spelling error.

It's just so they can plan ahead or know whether or not to get their hopes up when they see a show. Despite your own personal views, the opportunity to get face time with or even meet one of your favorite actors/actresses can mean a lot to some people. It can be a incredibly meaningful experience. The fact that actors and actresses are more accessible in theatre is a unique experience not afforded to many fans of say musicians and athletes who could go their whole life without meeting one of their heros, inspirations, or what have you, so it is a very good thing that people shouldn't take for granted. If meeting a certain actor/actress is important to someone but not to you, that doesn't make their questions any less important.
I don't think people asking these questions simply wanting to plan ahead is that much of an inconvenience to you. If they want to know and your privy to that information, tell them. If not, don't click on that thread. It's pretty simple.

The night I took my sister to see Annie none of the adults came out - not even Jane Lynch. We'd sat next to her best friend and kinda knew she wasn't coming.
My sister was a little disappointed by I just took her to Ellen's and all was well :)

Posted: 9/2/13 at 9:56pmI was really weirded out by the Annie stage door. Not only did none of the adult cast members come out, but the way the kids came out felt like some weirdly choreographed thing. The orphans came out, signed and went back in, then immediately after, the girl who played Annie came out and signed and went back in. It was all very quick and felt oddly choreographed.

FYI -
The gif is Patti LaBelle singing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow', and has nothing to do with preaching.

TheatreKid3, in response to your first paragraph, go back and reread my post. I am not criticizing people for stage dooring. I've done the stage dooring thing before.
And even if people are reporting that "so-and-so" comes out of the stage door, I don't see how reporting that allows people to plan ahead and not get their hopes up. It can vary from performance to performance. Also, xoffender45 was asking if it was a regular thing that Faith Prince doesn't come out through the stage door. You're going to have different reports from different people. What exactly is the he (or she?) looking to plan ahead if they already saw the show?
Also, I clicked on the thread because it was originally asking a slightly different question. I hadn't realized someone bumped up a thread from May until I got to the bottom. Generally I don't click on threads about frequency of actors who stage door, and if I did, I would do my best to answer if I knew.

I personally find it helpful having some sense of what to expect. I appreciated, for example, knowing ahead of time not to bother to try to stage door The Trip to Bountiful after hearing the reports that neither Cicely Tyson nor Vanessa Williams were coming out, since those were the two people I was most interested in.
In terms of the adults not coming out, I seem to remember something similar at Bye Bye Birdie, where I think only Gina Gershon and John Stamos of the adults at the performance I attended did the stage door thing, while most of the teens signed.

I posted here because I searched and this was the closest I could find to my question, and I didn't want to start a new thread because god forbid. But someone will always find something to complain about on here.
I am a huge Faith Prince fan, and since she didn't come out after I saw the show, I wanted to know if that was a regular thing. Actors who usually come out sometimes have their reasons for not stage dooring on a particular day. I'm willing to make the bus ride into the city again just to try meet her, if she does indeed "sometimes" come out. I guess that's the planning ahead that I didn't specify I had to do.

Also, I never implied that that gif was supposed to have anything to do with preaching. I told him to “Preach” which means Keep going, right on, I agree with you, Tell it like it is..
The Gif was just showing some classic Pattisms that expressed how I felt about the post.
