No more Giants. Waging war.

Oh, man, in how many threads are we going to get that Incomplete History of Into the Woods link shoved down our throats?

TazTarney, if you had any understanding of the show and its lyrics and its intention, you'd realize that yes, in fact, you are completely wrong. The entire show is about the illusion of happiness, all the characters are wishing, looking for a quick solution to their problems, thinking that if they only get their "wish," then life will be lovely, all their problems resolved. I know many people who think this way, my father being one of them, people who keep saying "if only I...then..." Sondheim and Lapine wrote an ENTIRE act based on how foolish that premise is, and even have the Baker go back to this mode when he is ready to give up, only to make him snap out of it much like his wife does right before she dies ("wake up, stop dreaming, stop prancing around the woods"). There are opinions and there are blatant misreadings of texts, you are misreading the lyrics. Get the fvck over it and move on.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
