I did go Saturday and I enjoyed the show. I thought Donna Murphy was the whole show. She is funny and extremely talented!!!!!!!
Wonderful Town is for lovers of musical comedy. It is swift on its toes, abundant in wit and bubbling with lively songs.
The cast led by Donna Murphy showcased at her humorous best as Ruth. Slim, angular, quizzial in tone, Murphy is wry fun whether her Ruth is coping with a dance-mad bunch Brazilian sailors or trying to perk up a dying dinner party with chatty gambits like "I was rereading "Moby Dick" the other day - Its about this whale......" Murphy's adroit voal attack never ceases to thrill.
Jennifer Westfeldt is truly a darling Eileen. Gregg Edelman is easygoing as the editor attacted to both siblings. Michael McGrath's wolf of a newspaperman, Pete Benson's twitchy soda jerk, Raymond Jaramillo McLeod's ramblin wreck of Trenton Tech jock and David Margulies' conniving landlord are all swell.
"Life is not measured by the number
of breaths we take, but by moments
that take our breath away."
"Life isn't about how to survive the storm,
but how to dance in the rain."
