That would be brilliant casting! One role where being ridiculously over-the-top would actually work!

She'll probably never get the chance, but I think she could do it, and do it well.

Well, that was pleasantly surprising.

I was expecting to open this thread and see someone asking when the Rent revival was going back in to the Nederlander. This would have been followed by numerous posts from people thinking they're clever, by saying, "No, the [title of show] revival is going there."

No RENT revival in my mind...no need. Give it a good 20 or 30 years then bring it back...and even then only maybe.

I was discussing this with a friend and said that Jackie Hoffman could play one of the Eels to Mary's Ursula. Hoffman's voice at times sounds exactly like the vocal affect that Tyler Maynard uses and they were so brilliant together in Xanadu.

I saw Mary Testa on the subway Saturday (14th & 8th A Train) and had to resist the temptation to say and exaggerated "Sit down" to my partner.

She would be a great Ursula.

What might be even better would be Jackie Hoffman as Ms. Andrew in Mary Poppins... but that will never happen...
