I believe everyone is cast as far as the main characters are concerned. This is the official list unless there's been a change that hasn't been posted yet.

i love Michael Barresse but i think having him play zach is just .....whatever.
i really WISHED Terry Mann had been asked to do Zach.
the whole point is...Zach is done with his dancing career, he is now directing and he is a voice from the house...which i LOVE...its so mysterious. NOW what? Barresse is going to be featured dancing with the people AUDIITONING?? i can't become one with this vision.
i welcome any insight..

I think it's safe to say that Mann probably wouldn't want anything to do with A Chorus Life again.

Zach does VERY little dancing in the show-- he demonstrates a few steps in the opening and then dances with the rest of the cast in the finale, but that's it.

Mann is 55 which is WAY too old to play Zach. If I remember correctly Zach used to be a dancing contemporary of a couple of the older dancers in the audition (I think Sheila mentions it in passing) before moving up to directing and choreographing. Mann is old enough to be their father.

Robert Lupone who created the role in the OBC was 28.

Zach teaches the opening combination and he is in "One"(reprise) so he dances any way. Or did they change something for the revival?

That is one good looking cast!

Didn't they say that the revival basically going to be a replica of the original? If it is, then I guess Michael won't be doing much dancing ().

oh GOOD...i had heard a rumor that zach was going to dance a lot..therefore...they cast michael.
i hear you about the age of terry..but i still think he is a hottie! =) i love him. AND he can dance!

So based on the fact that Beresse will be doing very little dancing, is it safe to say that he is supremely over-qualified for the role of Zach?

Well, I wouldn't quite say that. Frankly, I think Beresse is totally miscast in this role.

Yes, supremely overqualified, but I am glad knowing Zach could actually dance if needed, an added dimension to the character.

I agree Terrence Mann is a little too old and probably still scarred from the horrible movie version, but he is still one of my all-time favorite actors and would love to see him and Charlotte on-stage together. I saw Lennon and Chicago on consecutive days. I guess that is as close as I will get.

Beresse is a dancer/actor who has started directing ([title of show]), so his life does parallel that of Zach's.
