y'know, this is just one step removed from using audience plants and synthesizer music! how dare they not be honest with their audience! i mean really, taking a moment that broke everyone up once because it was organic and trying it to repeate nightly?

mr. shaiman, i demand that you step in and end this utter contempt for the audience. i assure you that the bbw community does not take this insult lightly!

When I saw Wicked, I was so thrilled when Elphaba was so mad she FLEW up in the air! I was so excited! I LOVED IT! NOW I hear she does this EVERY night! I feel duped! It seemed so surprising to me! Kristen seemed shocked, some of the chorus even fell on the floor they were so startled-- but they do it on tour, they do it in Chicago, they will probably do it in ENGLAND! It's like it's not real at all! Now I wonder if Fiyero even loves her of if that is all pretend too!

joe you evil b*st*rd! i so have not seen the tour yet and you ruined it for me! i mean hairspray spoilers is one thing, but for you to take it upon yourself to destroy the surprise of one of the greatest musicals ever written in any language since the dawn of time without even so much as a big red spoiler warning?

mr. shaiman, i demand after you fix the heinous injustice being perpetrated nightly upon the loving and indulgent fans of hairspray, that you wallop the livin' tar outta joe. you can totally take him.

During Fosco's seduction scene in WIW, there was a part where Maria, pretending to escape his advances, fell off the couch and started laughing... he would follow her to the floor as if he had slipped too, and they would look at each other and start laughing and laughing...it looked completely staged.

I always feel bad for the new theatregoer seeing the show who comes back and says, "Oh my gosh, you'll never believe what happened tonight." The same thing goes for the last speller to remain in the game during Spelling Bee. They think it's just such a special, personal, it-only-happened-at-this-performance moment... trickery!

thevolleyballer, that reminds me--I was thinking about this today--would you all consider Spelling Bee's trick with the last audience member spelling the be under the same category? Like...a cheap trick?
