EDIT: So I started out wanting to know about this song and this thread then took on a life of it's own (as threads usually do). So now that I've introduced my friend to you, anyone else there have friends they want to "brag" about? :)

My friend Todd just recently updated his website with more clips of him singing. I LOVE this one song and I can't for the life of me figure out what show it's from...it's driving me mad. I've emailed him to ask him but he's touring with Elton John at the moment so it may take him a while to respond. He's awesome, the song sounds like it was written for him - he needs to be performing this! If anyone can tell me what show it's from I want to go out to buy the recording! Thanks!

Agreed. It's SFANW.
And, by the way, your friend todd is quite good.

Just one more for now... actually, this clip is closer to the type of music that he enjoys singing.

No, he lives in Atlanta but is now touring as a backup singer with Elton until the end of the year. Trust me, we have been trying to convince him to get to NY for YEARS!!! He will one day (I hope!)

Now if my best friend Jasmine ever gets her act together she could become HUGE as well - but she's another story!

Gorgeous voice, and of course one of the wonderful songs from JRB's Songs for a New World, which had a spectacular production recently at Ventura's Rubicon Theater. Does he look as good as he sounds?

I would enjoy seeing a pic!:)

(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."

I'm not a big fan of posting people's picture without their permission. He's about 5'8" and adorable as all heck. Some people say he's a cuter version of Chris Kattan though I personally don't think that description does Todd justice (no offense to Chris Kattan). He'd be so embarrased to know I'm making a fuss over him but I say it's about time he get comfortable accepting praise. HA HA :)

As far as plans on making a CD...I'm not sure. I'd really love to see him put together a cabaret or showcase to perform somewhere. I have a feeling he's sort of given up the idea of being the next pop star being that he's not exactly "music video material". I've even heard him talk about wanting to write the songs for other up and comers to sing. As far as acting...I've never seen him really act before, only in review shows where he performed the songs he was singing but no real storyline or character to impress with. I'm sure he could, definitely more of a singer who acts though.

To the "real" madame x: I know you wrote that wasn't you writing, but to whoever IS writing the nice words...that's really sweet! :) Of course if you're just writing to screw with the "real" madame x, hmmmm, the words are still nice so, thank you???

So, I know others have talented friends (or are talented themselves)...I'd like to hear/see more regular folk, as opposed to the ones who already "made it". Gee I'm using a lot of quotation marks! HA
