Posted: 12/27/03 at 3:40pmSon_of_a_gunn looks like someone --- if that's his picture. Is it Danny from the Real World New Orleans? I think that's who it is...

Posted: 12/27/03 at 3:45pmHmmm the only famous person I have been told I looked like before was not even real, Shaggy off of Scooby Doo. I am cable deprived and I don't watch tv up at school much so I'll have to investigate this claim.

Posted: 12/27/03 at 3:45pmHe does look like Danny from The Real World New Orleans. I think that was the last season I actually watched of that show. Some of my friends have told me that it's gone down the pot.

Posted: 12/27/03 at 3:51pmThanks, I only have one complaint. Why don't girls ever tell me I am cute! Its only gay guys who tell me I'm cute. Argghh maybe its because I hang out with the shy girls.

Well hahah I found out about a month ago about 20 girls had a crush on me last year, but I was completely unaware of it until it was later. Either I am really dense and a big flirt(which all my friends tell me I am), or the girls I'm around are just too darn shy. I like the good girls btw, I'm not into anything bad at all, and sorry for making you listen to my heterosexual woes.

Son of a gunn, the reason why you have never seen Phantom of the Opera done on a community theater stage is because you cannot license or aquire the rights for it! Cameron Mackintosch and ALW both stated that when/if POTO becomes available, it will primarily be licensed to wealthier opera companies, etc! I'm not really sure I believe that it will actually become available, maybe only for high paying circumstances....Who knows?!?!? Anyways, you and BG2 can get back to your convo now, hahaha! Have good day!
See Ya!

Posted: 12/27/03 at 4:15pmThanks for the clear up there. I think I knew that but I am absent minded so I just blew straight ahead not thinking about it. Good point. And my opinion is supported by that, only a wealthy opera house could afford to do the show well. Feel free to disagree though.

Posted: 12/27/03 at 4:21pmI would think that by the time Phantom dies it's slow horrble death on broadway, everyone in the country who ever wanted to see it would have seen it by then and noone would want to go to some fancy-shmancy Opera House to see it. Just my opinion though. I am one of those people who feels free to bash the show even though they have never seen it. I have heard the music though and that was plenty for me.

Oh I completely agree Son of a gunn25, as much as I LOVE Phantom of the Opera, I don't think that a regular community theater would have the resources to pull of show of that magnitude! Don't kill me for saying this, but I have seen POTO eight times, and it is my favorite show....*Hiding under the bed*....Please don't hurt me, hahahaha!
Later!

Which Phantom are we talking about? The show or me?
You're so vain, you probably think this show is about you...

i am not a big fan of the british megahits of the 80s: cats, phantom, les miz... nor this disney crap: lion king, beauty/beast, aida...
they're all about the spectacle. yes, there is some good material in them and i was was mildly entertained by them all, but to me they destroy alot of what the American composers of our generation (sondheim, jrb, lachuisa, guettel, lippa) are striving for musical theater to achieve.
true, that was a bold statement...and i prolly didn't mean it as harsh as it came out. but hey, i'm always up for a little discussion.

"true composers"
so a TRUE composer is someone who writes music YOU like and the others are just "faux" composers???
