I love and respect Obama as much at the next person, but cmon? Really?
He's been president for a little over 24 hours. I think this is a little ridiculous...plus, even if he is a great president, I don't know if I'd want to see a musical about it.

How did I know this was gonna happen... I love Obama and all, but this is a bad idea. I think it should just be a play, no singing. I love musicals, but really?

"Stuff Happens" was out there before Bush left office. Good Play. Saw it in NYC.
And London, theatre joke of the world? Where did that come from?

I too have sometimes questioned the theatre across the pond (like Thriller, We Will Rock You ect) but I don't think it's any worse than the crap we sometimes put on here in the states.
I think the only way a show like that could work in even the smallest way is if it was a farce, which, by the look of the song titles in the article, I'd say it is.
"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor
"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl
"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

But....he hasn't done anything.

Here's BWWs article (which is where I got the song info from)
https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/YES_HE_SANG_Obama_Musical_Readies_for_UK_Stage_Debut_20090120
from the article above: "Musical focuses on the personalities behind the Democratic candidate's campaign"
from the OPs article: "a humorous romp set in an Obama campaign office"
The show takes place durring his PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN, not where he is now. Both articles say that Obama wont appear in the show which combines "pop, rock, gospel and soft jazz songs"
...and a song called Obama and Me "which is sung by an obsessive member of his team and includes the lyric: "We are a pair/like chocolate and éclair." ...wha?
