Posted: 12/31/05 at 9:35amEverything Broadway, that's my obsession! My favorite shows are still Wicked and Rent. Say I see Wicked, that's my obsession for the day. Say I see the Rent movie, that's my obsession for the day. Throw in a trip to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, there's my obsession! I like it that way :)

I think this is a very therapeutic thread for many of us!!
My Rent obsession will never go away, it is my anchor between other
obsessions.
I am just getting over a brief obsession with Book Report from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. I had to hear this in the morning, in the car, before bed...it was bad.
Now I am obsessed with DRS, all of it except "Chimp in a Suit." It's not the greatest music in the world, but it is so fun and light it has me hooked. Then I was lucky enough to see it last week, and now I can't stop playing it, because now I have mental images to go with the songs.
My boyfriend is going crazy because I play tracks 6, 8, 9, and 10 over and over and over again. I love the thought of Norbert being whipped, HOT!
For Christmas one of my best firends gave me Bright Lights, Big City, and I feel a new obsession coming on.

Posted: 12/31/05 at 3:14pmI definitely second the What Not To Wear obsession. As for musicals, at the moment it's RENT, with some Beauty and the Beast thrown in there, though one of my longest obsessions ever was NEWSIES! Best movie musical ever.

I'm currently (always) obsessed with Broadway Musicals, right now the Producers Movie and the soundtrack but also the 2004 Cast recording of Assassins (I adore the 1991 cast too).
I also agree with Broadwaybabe615 and jasobres, I love Whose Line and Drew Carey, but House is my major, unhealthy (<--pun) obsession.
Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
Pecry: But it's spelled J-A-V-E-R-T Javvurt.
Javert: Repeat after me Zsah...Zsah....
Percy: Oh! Zsa-Zsa! Like the Gabor sister! Well I personally have always prefered Eva.
Javert: (Looks for gun)

Posted: 12/31/05 at 3:46pmMy rent obsession has been going on for about three years. My mom says that its unhealthy and it scares her. [All because I wanted to go see the movie for the third time in a week...I don't see anything wrong with that]. And I'm going to New York to see it for the second time so I'm excited. =D

Posted: 12/31/05 at 4:12pmAh, yes, gumbo. Definitely have to mentioned the NEWSIES love. Over 10 years now and my love for those singing and dancing newsboys hasn't tarnhished. Has anyone seen/heard of Blood Drips on Newsies Square? It's quite possibly the most ridiculously hilarious things I've ever seen in my entire life.

Today as I was thinking of my "Wish list for 2006" I conclude that I definitely have to go back to NY this year. See, I'm from Guatemala and in less than a year and a half I've been three times to NY... the reason... Broadway Shows.
It all started with The Lion King and Chicago the first trip... then, I was so fascinated that I said "I have to go back this year, plan my trip ahead and watch a few more musicals"... so, 6 months later I went back for a week, and saw 6 shows... then a couple of monts ago I went AGAIN and had the opportunity to go to 9 shows within 2 weeks...!
My family and friends think I'm obsessed... that there's more to life than NY and broadway shows... the worst part, I don't have anyone to share my "obsession" here in Guatemala! I guess it sucks to be me.

For me, I am Listening to "carrie" again. I keep trying to break the love/hate cycle, but it is tough. I listen to it all the time, and research the history. SO great. So Sad. So weird.
And DRS, of course. Taboo. Souvenir.

Posted: 1/1/06 at 11:49amI hate admitting that I'm obsessed with anything because sometimes it can sound unhealthy. Either way, I'm in love with all Broadway, but probably Rent the most.

I am obsessed with Forbidden Broadway and Avenue Q.
When I am depressed both shows make me very happy.

Posted: 1/1/06 at 9:20pmI get obsessed pretty easily. I'll just latch onto a musical and won't let go for a few months! Right now it's Parade. Not just because of the music, which is just immaculate, but also because of the story. I've even done research on the whole Leo Frank/Mary Phagen case!
