I've been unlucky to schedule my once a year trip to NYC this week (arriving Monday afternoon) -- Have 9 tickets to see all the major musicals - ugh! If there's a strike, I'd love to substitute Off-Broadway shows in their place. I have tickets for BUG and THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS -- can someone make some Off-Broadway recommendations?
Also, I bought most of my tickets through telecharge.com -- if there is a strike, will I be able to get my monet refunded?
See ya all tomorrow!

I just saw "Bug" and "Musical of Musicals"...very good choices..."Forbidden Broadway" has a new edition that just started July 5th.
Definitley have to see "The Blue Man Group". It's the most fun I ever had on off-broadway!
Another vote for Forbidden Broadway. But also Here Lies Jenny. Actually you can see both, Jenny goes on quite late at the Zipper
"BUG" What an exciting show. Shannon Cochran is letter perfect. I thought the nudity was unnecessary but it's always fun to see naked people.
I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is very funny!!
Yet another vote for Forbidden Broadway here!
I don;t think off broadway is as good as broadway.

Well, if you're more interested in production values than contenct, your predilection to Broadway is understandable. But if you want to see good stories told well, interesting ideas, and good talent, Off-Broadway can be just as good as Broadway.
Bronx, that was a fairly uneducated opinion, no? Shows aren't off-Broadway because they're not good enough, but because they work better in smaller houses.
I'm going to see the new Forbidden Broadway on Friday night. Looking forward to it.

Bronx Bound...
You forge that many shows make their START off-broadway -- look at Caroline or Change, A Chorus Line and countless others -- the fact that it is not in a small number of particular theaters owned by a smaller number of people should not (in my opinion) determine what is better...
