Also, does 80s pop rock sound right for the style? Maybe I don't know the movie.

Movie came out in 82...so sure. Seems like a possible fit. As to the "need" for it at all? Who knows...doesn't sound appealing to me, and I like the movie

But...I didn't think Come From Away sounded like an enjoyable musical.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
