When I saw the show I thought everyone was going to lose it when Gloria flashed Robert. Kathryn went over to the desk and turned her head away from the audience, but she was shaking with laughter. Rylance was just completely frozen for at least 30 seconds and then cracked this brilliant smile (which I'm assuming is staged), but the entire moment felt like it could collapse into laughter at any instant.
Agree about the music !! Sets the perfect mood !
Sort of the way I felt seeing "Seafarer".
Just popped up on TDF again for next Weds night- !!
So far, all of my TDF seats have been Orch- not sure now-- was really packed on Tues.

I'm still shocked how few people "get" the songs that are playing as the audience enters.

shh282: I saw this today and I was just saying that Norbert Leo Butz would be perfect in that role. I mean, I love Bradley Whitford and he was great, but I can see Butz in that role again. And I agree that Whitford sounded like him at some points. Also, if I had to pick someone to replace Mark Rylance (not that I would because he was also awesome), it would be Denis O'Hare. Anyway, I loved this show as well and everyone in it.

I only remember one of the songs (Hit the Road Jack)..so French covers of 60s American songs? It sets the mood pretty well, but I don't get it if there's more to get.

Loved BOEING BOEING. One of the most purely entertaining evenings I've ever spent in a theatre. I thought I'd hurt myself laughing. I was afraid that my expectations would be too high, I've been a fan of Mark Rylance for a few years now. But he and the rest of the cast came through.
What a great show.
I am so happy for Mary McCormack and Mark Rylance

I'd love it if they both won, they are both very deserving. I'm afraid that Patrick Stewart will win.
SOOOO happy Mary got a nom !!! And Rylance as well , but no way that performance could have been overlooked, so expected that one.
Congratulations also to Matthew Warchus for being recognized for his brilliant direction!
Still looking forward to seeing it.
Maybe now that he's a Broadway STAH, dahling, Rylance's next Broadway venture will be some of his ridiculously touted Shakespeare. Oh please oh please!
Anyone have any idea why it's taking so long for the Ask a Star segment with Gina Gershon to get put up on broadway.com?
Two well deserved wins last night! :] it's too bad that Mary didn't get hers though.
Loved the show! I saw it a few weeks ago, and I'm going back again in August. I was so glad to see Mark Rylance win an award last night. Too bad Mary McCormack didn't win. Both had some stiff competition though. I was also excited to see the show win Best Revival.
Well deserved!!!
Caught the Melbourne production of this last night, and it was wonderful, although I wish I could see the Broadway production, especially for Mark Rylance. But really, I would have loved to have seen the London cast with the amazing Roger Allam. Love him.

I saw the matinee yesterday for the first time and I have to say that the show was one of the funniest things I had ever seen in a theater. Mark and Mary were just as amazing as I had heard and Christine, Bradley, Katherine, and Gina were all fantastic. The show must be very tough on the ladies, because you can see bruises all over their legs. This was the first strait play comedy I've been to so I had no idea how funny it would be. I nearly fell out of my seat more times than I can count.
I went to the show tonight and I LOVED it. I don't usually see plays, but I couldn't pass up seeing this cast. I don't think I have laughed that hard in a VERY long time. Mark definitely deserves that Tony Award! I sat in the $20 box seats so I missed parts on stage left so I may just have to go back and see it again!
Cant wait to see the show again !!! Went by the B.O and bought a tic for 7/1- Show is hysterical !
Saw the matinee yesterday. It's so hysterical. What a solid cast. I can't say enough about Mary McCormank. Fantastic!!!
When I saw the show, the set and music alone had me antsy in my seat for the production to start. I immediately loved it and nearly lost my sh!t once it all began. It really is that funny. Mary McCormick was BRILLIANT in the show!
I love when she gets upset that he keeps black mailing her and they have to hide their indiscretion from "Beh-Nahd".
