Oh my gosh darn I love this campaign more and more. How about the Helen Hayes start selling Cubby t-shirts next to the Xanadu t-shirts?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

re: Official Cubby Bernstein Thread

hello. Does anyone think he'll make an appearance on the Tony Awards Show? I'm hoping that "Xanadu" will be the leadoff show, like "A Chorus Line" was with the 2007 telecast. from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Cubby has to make an appearance at the Tonys. he HAS to have a little bit, whether it be with the Xanadu cast or perhaps with Whoopi prior to a commericial break?

I might just have to swing by the theater on my way home from work. If it's a nice day, I'm there.

I think if/when XANADU wins Best Musical, Cubby should make the acceptance speech!

RE: Tony Awards. Hasn't it been the pattern in recent years for the Best Musical nominees to do their scene in alphabetical order by title of show? Personally, I hope not, because having Xanadu lead off the show could really get the joint jumpin' (shades of Smokey Joe's Cafe), but it does begin with "X," making it the last in alphabetical order.
