I was there yesterday and it was awesome. I had to leave at about 6:25, when Marcia Gay Harden and Hope Davis were on-stage. I enjoyed it very much and loved seeing so many performers and all those adorable dogs. I'll post my pictures/videos when I have time to upload them.
When I had to leave early, the only person I was disappointed about missing was Lauren Graham. Yet I don't see her in any pictures. Was she there? I thought I saw her on the list of celebrities said to be there. But I guess she couldn't make it...?

Nope, Lauren Graham was not there. I wonder if the closing of Guys and Dolls may have changed her plans. I don't know if she has any connections to New York, besides for doing the show. If not, then there probably was no reason for her to stay.
I think I'm going to get my photos up tomorrow. I'm just really tired right now. But, I did put a photo of my foster cat on the Broadway Barks fan page on Facebook. She's the brown tabby named Carol. And she's up for adoption, if anyone is interested. :)

I really liked the event, Broadway Barks is a remarkable organization! I also love Mary Tyler Moore and spent a semester working on a research paper on her, so seeing her live and buying an autographed script of "Chuckles Bites the Dust" was the most amazing thing imaginable!
All of the dogs - and the humans bringing them onstage - were so adorable! (especially Snoopy!). I hope they reached their goal in money raised and adoption!
the one thing that bothered me (and I know I'm not alone and there isn't anything one can do about it) was being on my feet for 4-5 hours so I could get and keep a good spot. (then once I got it, I was stuck behind a tall guy who ended up in all my pics, and a really rude, mean man who I wanted to sic Toxie on if he said one more mean thing about the event). So if this thread pops up next year, know to get there early and bring food!
Unfortunately, my camera died at the beginning, and my cords are either in MD, NJ, or VT. Once they are located I will post the few pics I have!

Lauren Graham is in NY right now, but she wasn't at Broadway Barks. Kate Jennings Grant was there even though Guys and Dolls closed, so it was weird that Graham didn't show up.
I was surprised by the huge crowds gathering around the stage so early. You're right, it was taxing to stand for so long!

Plus, Lauren Graham was on Seth's Chatterbox on Thursday night so she was still in the city then. Well, I guess I'm not as disappointed for leaving early anymore (although I would've loved to see Audra too).
I thought the event went well. A couple people spoke too much I think (like Alice... and Constantine who kept going on and on about that cat and trying to be funny...lol), but it was good. I loved watching the actors play and interact with the animals - so cute!
Wow, bravo to you guys who stood for 4-5 hours. I was there for a little over an hour and was fine, but once I started leaving my legs hurt when walking, haha I'm weak. I was in the back in the center, but still had a decent view. It was a little difficult to see the dogs if they were on the ground/stage (as opposed to the actors holding them), but I could see the actors perfectly. I'm just glad it wasn't like 100 degrees and sweaty and stuff... it would've been gross to be in such a huge crowd.

Okay, I didn't know that. I just assumed that she might have left if there were no reasons to still stay. Guess she does still.
Yes, I was in the back of the crowd too. I was there from maybe 4:45 to the end. The thing that bothered me a bit was space. I had some girl in front of me touching me with her gross hair. It was unintentional of course, but very unpleasant anyway.

I posted this in the other Broadway Barks thread as well.
How does Broadway Barks exactly work? When I went a couple of years ago, I was confused because I thought I heard someone say that all the dogs being showcased that day were already adopted. If so, what is the point of showing that specific dog? Of course, I could be totally wrong. How does the adoption process work at Broadway Barks?

I think there is a possibility that some of them could have been claimed before they were shown. But, I would not think that all of them were.
I think the adoptions are based on policies of the individual rescue groups. Some might be okay with accepting applications and taking the animal right on the spot. However, some look over the applications, especially if there are multiples for one animal, to see if there are potential adopters. It may seem dumb that they bother to check where the animals are going, but not everyone would be a good pet owner.

I enjoyed watching Constantine making the presentation on the cats (like Frosty!). There's a video made:

I forgot about the 3 legged dog! Poor thing, I hope he got adopted :[ Honestly, if I had a big house and yard...well, and money to buy the food
...I would probably adopt as many of these animals as I could! It is so sad that there are so many dogs and cats are there without homes =(
Nice to see all the pictures and video this year from those who went. Thanks to Jordangirl for last years' and now again this years' pictures :)

Posted: 7/13/09 at 1:14pmI have a random question. I bought the shirt, but had to get it in a medium because that was the smallest size they had. Did they have it in a small earlier in the day, and I just got there too late? I love it, but it just seems too long, especially the sleeves.

'I forgot about the 3 legged dog! Poor thing, I hope he got adopted...'
Was that the pug? I was just looking at some Facebook pictures, and there was one of a three-legged pug. The caption said it was adopted, so yay. I would put an exclamation point, but my shift key is broken.
